G.NA ended her series of debut stages for her title track, I’ll Back Off So You Can Live Better, on today’s Inkigayo.
As she was carrying out an impressive and powerful performance on stage, an unexpected accident unfolded.
G.NA’s microphone pack fell loose and she caught it just in time before it hit the floor. She struggled to set her microphone pack in place, but it was a difficult task for her since she was singing, dancing and giving it her all on stage. Eventually, she carried out the rest of her performance clutching onto the microphone pack.
Although an unexpected accident unfolded, G.NA definitely handled it well and stood strong throughout the performance.
Immediately after the broadcast, a representative from Cube Entertainment expressed:
“The accident was unexpected, but G.NA ended her performance well. G.NA cried right after she came off the stage because she vigorously prepared to showcase a perfect debut stage, which she felt like she didn’t do.”
G.NA notices something was wrong at 0:54 and later takes a hold of the dangling microphone pack at 0:58. Check out her performance below.

100718 Cube Entertainment's President Hong Seungsung's father passes away
The president of Cube Entertainment, Hong Seungsung, in charge of BEAST, 4minute, G.NA, Mario, and more faced sadness with the news of his father’s death.
Mr. Hong who is the father of President Hong passed away on the 17th due to of an illness. His funeral will be taking place on the 19th at the Choongbook Danyang providence in Jinri.
After hearing the news that President Hong had passed away, BEAST had immediately headed to the funeral to pay respect and comfort the president. 4minute planned to be visiting him on the 18th, after the filming of SBS ‘Inkigayo’.
President Hong had wanted to open up a company since the early 90s and had been a representative that JYP Entertainment in the past helping stars rise to their full potential.

The ticket will be given on the day of the performance after verifying the SMS (Once exchanging the SMS verification for the ticket, all cell phones and video devices will be left at the booth which will be monitored over). 100719 Five Girls are back together with the debut of the super rookie G.NA
The Five Girls members congratulated the debut of their leader G.NA.
UEE, Yubin, and Hyosung, who had been members of the group Five Girls, had genuinely congratulated the debut of G.NA through online congratulatory messages revealed on the 19th. These videos were the full version of the short clips revealed live on KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ on the 16th. It has been attracting attention as the sincerity of the Five Girls group members is displayed on screen.
After School UEE stated, “The leader and the unnie of Five Girls, Gina finally debuted. With a strong voice and with a perfect performance, I hope that she will be able to surprise us once again.”
Secret’s Hyosung stated, “My favorite unnie, Gina, debuted. I can feel the tears coming because I’m really happy for her.” She added, “It had been more than 5 years since I met Gina. It’s Gine who really worked hard when after all long wait. I’m even more nervous and I’m really happy to know that we will be active together. Show her a lot of love.”
Wonder Girl’s Yubin stated, “Congratulations for your debut. It’s been almost 5 years since we have met and I’m sorry that I couldn’t contact you more often. After hearing news about your debut I was really happy. Let’s meet up later in the studios, chat together, and work hard on our activities together.”
Five Girls had prepared for their debut through a cable reality program, and faced sadness when they were torn apart due to their management problems. From the five girls, Yubin, UEE, and Hyosung had debuted in that order, and Gina had recently debuted as a solo with her song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live,” which is currently gaining popularity in the music charts.

Starting off with a bad start, the leader and the oldest member of the past girl group Five Girls, Choi Gina, had been congratulated for her debut as a solo artist.
Choi Gina changed her name to G.NA and released a mini album ‘Draw G’s First Breath’ with 5 songs on the 14th. G.NA is the first one to be debuting as a solo artist out of the Five Girls group.
Five Girls had been a girl group consisting of 5 members since 2008, but due to many problems, never had gotten a chance to debut. However, after the Five Girls, Yubin joined Wonder Girls, UEE joined After School, and the youngest Jeon Hyosung joined Secret, continuing their activites.
According to Cube Entertainment, Yubin, UEE, and Jeon Hyosung have sent their congratulatory messages to G.NA on her debut on the 15th.
Cube Entertainment stated, “UEE, Yubin, and Jeon Hyosung sent a message saying ‘G.NA unnie, congratulations on your debut, you worked hard this past 5 years’ and G.NA had gained a lot of strength from the messages from her dongsaengs.”
G.NA was able to debut as a solo artist after 5 years of preparation, including her trainee days.
Meanwhile G.NA will be revealing ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’, the title song of her album on Mnet M! Countdown on the 15h. This song dance song includes the featuring from BEAST’s Yong Junhyung who shares the same company.
100716 G.NA's debut stage catches attention of the viewers
The rookie female solo G.NA had her first debut stage.
G.NA had her first debut stage with the title song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’ off of her first album, ‘Draw G’s First Breath’, on the live broadcast of KBS 2TV ‘Music Bank’ on the 16th at 5:50pm.
On this day, BEAST’s Yong Junhyung, who is in the same company as G.NA, came on stage with her and showed off his rapping which made the stage even more extravagant. She also attracted the crowd with her black and white outfit and a performance unlike a rookie with her amazing vocal abilities.
G.NA started off in a bad position as the leader of the group Five Girls which eventually was forgotten, and had later moved to Cube Entertainment with BEAST and 4minute and started to prepare for her solo debut.
Her title song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live ‘ has been a combo project of Kim Dohoon and Hweesung and it is can R&B track with a melody that is hard to be forgotten like the title. BEAST’s Yong Junhyung who had featured in Hyunah’s ‘Change’ had helped out once again for this track as well.
100718 G.NA completes her live stage despite mic problems on 'Inkigayo', "is she really a rookie?"
‘Super rookie’ G.NA had shown off amazing abilities of fulfilling her live performance until the end even with microphone problems.
The rookie G.NA had continued her debut stage performances on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ broadcasted on the 18th live. On this stage, G.NA had performed the title song off her debut album, ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’.
However during the performance, the microphone pack G.NA had been using fell off, but she has still continued through her performance without letting go of the microphone until the end. Because of this, she wasn’t able to fully show off her performance and even her hair had gotten tangled in the process. But still even at this happening, she wasn’t surprised and continued to show off her live, surprising many of the other artists and staff.
In a phone conversation with Newsen and her company’s acquaintance, they stated, “The microphone pack fell off while G.NA was signing, but even at this surprising happening, the rookie G.NA continued to sing while holding the microphone in place.”
They also added, “It must have been surprising as a rookie, but seeing her handle the situation well, we are thankful to her. However we are disappointed that she couldn’t dance properly and that her makeup was messed up due to this problem.”
Meanwhile, the ‘Super rookie; G.NA debuted with the song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’ declaring a challenge in the music industry.
It has been revealed that super rookie G.NA’s parents are national representative athletes.
G.NA said in an interview with Newsen on 21st July, “My father and my mother are both national athletes.” G.NA’s father Choi SeonSoo is a national Taekwondo athlete while her mother Yoon TaeSeon is a national representative swimmer. It is also known that G.NA’s mother is close friend with Choi YoonHee, dubbed as ‘Asia’s mermaid’.
G.NA said, “In Vancouver, I often meet up with Choi YoonHee’s family. And I also appeared in Korean broadcast shows there with them. And I thought that since my parents have let others know Korea as national representative athlete, I want to become the representative singer for Korea too. I hope to become Korea’s representative female singer to the world.”

New solo artist G.NA (23 – real name Choi Gina) showed her continuous affection for her Five Girls members. G.NA recently released her mini album with the title song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’ for her debut. Currently the R&B dance song ‘I’ll Back Off So You Can Live’ is ranked on the upper charts as it has received much attention from fans. G.NA’s background of her being the leader and eldest of girl group Five Girls garnered much attention.
Five Girls, whom is consisted of five members, was ready in 2007 to make their debut as they even had a reality program. However, the debut of Five Girls could not be made due to certain reasons. They were also called the unlucky girl group.
As members Yoobin went to Wonder Girls, Uee to After School, and magnae Jun Hyosung to Secret, with their activities, the attention of Five Girls increased. Following after this, fans of G.NA began to grow curious also.
G.NA said on the 21st to Money Today Star News in the interview, “Uee, Yoobin, Hyosun, and Jiwon who is now a musical actress – thanks to the my dongsengs of Five Girls, I received much support and celebration from them for my debut.”
Also, Uee, Yoobin, and Hyosung recently sent a celebratory video message for G.NA in congratulating her for her solo debut which also received the fans’ attention.
G.NA said, “I still stay in contact with the members” and “Although I’m the eldest of the group, they take care of me and I gain strength from them” as she smiled. She continued by saying, “Since my Five Girls dongsengs are doing well, it makes me proud” and “I saw the video message my dongsengs sent and it was truly touching.”
G.NA lastly said, “Five Girls was a group that started but never saw the end” and “I talked with the members and sometime later on, we would like to perform a special stage.”
10722 Truthfully, I Was Worried During the Debut of Yubin, UEE, and Hyosung of Five Girls
Super rookie Gina (G.NA) displayed her friendship with the former members of Five Girls. In the past Newsen interview Gina had, she said, "I communicated with the members of Five Girls frequently and we cheered for each other," and "Although time has passed, I feel tight just thinking about spending time with the members."
In 2007, Gina prepared her debut as the leader of the girl group Five Girls, but due to agency problems, they were broken up as they put ahead their debut. At that time, Yubin first debuted with the Wonder Girls out of the 5 members, and then After School's UEE and Secret's Hyosung debuted as singers.
Gina said, "Even if I can't frequently call the members of Five Girls, we communicate through email and Cyworld," and "Even when Yubin was busy with activities in America, she frequently asked how I was doing through text messages. While UEE was active in a drama, she called many times even during her busy schedule. I saw Hyosung many times in the same recording studio."
Also, she expressed her inner thoughts by saying, "Honestly, as I waited for over 3 years, I got mixed feelings. Particularly, although I cheered as each of the members debuted, I truthfully felt worried. I was also worried by the fact that I was the oldest."
Also, Gina laughed while saying, "But, I'm happy. I'm happy by the fact that we united again. It's so meaningful," and "Although I can't express it well, we are Five Girls who are full of compassion."
In the meantime, Gina, who debuted in the past as a former leader but with the misfortune of the break up of the girl group Five Girls, she is in the middle of enthusiastically participating in activities with her title song 'I'll Back Off So You Can Live'. Gina's song 'I'll Back Off So You Can Live' was highly ranked in various music charts and it is maintaining a storm of popularity.
