Living in Korea doesn't mean that your world revolves around KPOP only.I am Korean, but little people know that some Kpop acts are fake. It issad, but that is the truth. At one point, I even stayed away from theKpop scene and opted to listen and follow the underground acts only.
But working in the publishing filed, directly involving with Kpop.. Ihave to be neutral. I have to keep reminding myself not to be tooskeptical but it was hard when the thing you do not wish to see, do notwant to hear are in front of your eyes. But it all changed in one day.It is all because of SHINee.
We anticipated that day very much, because we finally got our chance todo the interview of this group that we admire so much. I am not a bigfan myself, but I respect them as they work very hard to accomplishwhat they have today, being in this cruel industry where thecompetition is very fierce.
That day, we couldn't wait to meet SHINee.
As soon as we were done with talking and interviewing Key, Onew, Taeminand Jonghyun, it was finally Minho's turn. He was very quiet andthoughtful the whole time questions were being asked to the rest of theboys. He talked occasionally, and smiled most of the time. At othertimes he simply looked down, and laughed a bit at the jokes Onew wastelling. He threw glances at the boys and there was no mistake thestrong brotherhood that these boys have. He would pat Taemin's backsometimes and squeezed the tense muscles out of Jonghyun's shoulders.
The sessions continued for more than two hours, and at one point heeven went to get the drinks for the members instead of waiting for ourstaff to bring them to them.
Jonghyun and Taemin went out of the room for a while, and we started toask Minho our 1st question to him. "Minho is known as a verycompetitive person. Some people say it is very disturbing to see thatstreak in you because you are young and you are supposed to enjoy yourlife or not taking anything too seriously. What do you have to say tothat?"
He looked very much lost in thought for a while before calmly stating:
"When I was very young.. Iwanted to become a professional soccer player. I love sports very muchto a point where I learned everything there is to it about football,and entered every football match around. My thirst in winning wasunquenchable that I worry my family off. One day, my dad told me heopposed of me of pursuing that one thing I ever wanted at the time andI was crushed. He didn't want me to become a football player. He saidhaving sports as a career is very tough, he knows it because he is aprofessional football coach himself. I was lost and didn't know what todo and when I came to my senses, I decided that I would never quit tofight in everything I do. If I do one thing, I do it wholeheartedly,even if people keep telling me it's impossible, I would never want tobelieve them and I would have faith in myself instead. Fight somethingas if it is your last fight.. as if there would be no more chance to dothat later. That's what triggers the competitiveness in me.. If I lose,I would be very disappointed with myself, keep blaming myself of theloss. Keep telling myself I would do even better in the future."
At this point, Onew kept nodding at what Minho was saying. We were surprised when Onew added, "Minho does what he does best, doing at his very best ability like there's notomorrow. Be it in performing, or playing or sports. Even I cannot dothat as a leader."
Q: You were seen as the quietest out of the five. Is there any reason to it?
A: I am the youngest in myfamily. I have an elder brother. I was raised to listen and then talk.Not to talk and then listen. Meaning that, I was taught by my mother tobe an observer and a listener. Because my hyung is the first son in myfather's side of family line in 30 years, he was the center ofattention, while I enjoy being by his side - to be a good friend forhim in an oppressed situation, to always be there for my mother and myfather when they need me... even if I do not do good as their son.That's why I am quiet most of the time. I tend to listen rather than dothe talking.
By this, Key said to us, "If he is loud.... he is toooo loud," which aroused laughter in the room and having Minho chuckled, looking slightly blushed.
The interview session went about for another 30 minutes. Bu this time,he looked very comfortable, and was able to talk more freely.
Q: What's the name of SHINee's fan club? What do your fans mean to you?
A: [smiled widely before continuing] It'sSHINee World or SHAWOL in short. Where I am today, where we aretoday... It would be impossible without the love and support by ourfans, we went to see SM Youtube page sometimes and were very, verysurprised to see the warm, encouraging comments left by the fans on ourvideos. I hope I'll be able to understand English more. I want to beable to understand what they were saying. We worked on this new albumfor 9 months... having sleepless nights of choosing songs.. writinglyrics.. singing rehearsals... recording songs... dancing training..discussing the concept etc.. all for our fans. We are glad that wefinally get to do what we love most which is to entertain.
Q: Any last words to your fans?
A: Thousand of apologieson my bended knees to our beloved fans because I cannot perform on thestage with other members. We just finished recording our MV and justwaited for the comeback stage when that accident happened. My rupturedmuscle would take a very long time to recuperate but as for now I amtaking the medicine which enables me to resume my stage performance inthe near future. I am still in pain but will endure it for the fans.Please forgive me for my recklessness. SHINee World is our world. Ourworld revolves around them. We appreciate your love very much. If Icould bow to each and very one of you, I would. 'Thank you very much'would not be sufficient enough but please know in your heart that wereally appreciate all of you. And for that, I THANK YOU. WE THANK YOU.
As the session wrapped up, we came to realize that these shining boysare very special. Minho is such a good conversationalist. We wouldnever expect that from him. He is very humble and down-to-earth.. whenhe went out of the room, the rest of the 4 boys waited restlessly forhim to come back.
Taemin selected food from each tray and put them on a plate. "This is for Minho hyung," he said. Key kept bothering him at the side, "Minho doesn't eat this one. Let's take more Kimbap rolls for him. He loves that."
SHINee won't be SHINee without Choi Min Ho. SHINee won't be SHINeewithout Key, Onew, Jonghyun and Taemin. They complete each other up.
Before the day ended, I realized that I am proud of these young men whowork very hard in accomplishing what they have today. Surviving in Kpopis tough and I hope they will stay humble and stay the way they are, tokeep their feet on the ground always and not forgetting their roots.
That day I realized I wanted to become a SHAWOL too. That I day Irealized, Kpop is not such a bad wave after all. Thanks to Minho &SHINee, I have more faith in Kpop nowadays.

Onthe recent episode of KBS2’s Nocturnal, which aired on the 15th,SHINee’s Minho revealed a funny incident that happened between him andLeessang’s Gil.
Minho revealed:
“I was strolling alongthe streets a couple of days ago, and I ran into Gil and Park Jung Ahcouple, who were shopping. Park Jung Ah sunbae nicely greeted me, ‘Oh,it’s nice to see you. Did you come here to shop?’. However, Gil sunbaehad a discontent expression on his face and carefully watched me fromafar’
“As I continued to have a conversation with Park Jung Ah sunbae, Gil stared to glare, signaling at me to go away.

Minho of SHINee drew everyone's attention when he picked himself as the most popular member amongst elementary school students.
Themembers of SHINee came out on the all night variety show "Night Star"recording. The question asked which member is the most popular amongsteach age group to which Minho responded, "I am the most popular memberamongst elementary school students." The reason was because a CF abouta snack you break(Ppushyeo Ppushyeo) was a popular sensation to youngkids. Minho said that after the CF was aired, a lot of elementarystudents recognized him. Maybe it's because they feel close to him, butthey always shout "It's Minho!"(Meaning the younger kids don't call himformally by "oppa/hyung"). And even when he's with all the members ofSHINee, the kids only recognize Minho and shout "It's Minho!".
Minhoalso mentioned that there are many more young fans who recognize Minhoon "Let's Go Dream Team 2". Minho revealed that thanks to "Dream Team",elementary school students have been shouting "Ready~ Go" that Minhojust gets ready to start running without himself even realizing,arousing laughter.
SHINee said that they are recently becomingpopular overseas. They imitated the way their Thai fans called theirnames on the spot, making the Night Star MCs burst into laughter.

Woah, okay, I just went through the entire evidence page on Naver, anddamn, this has got to be one of the biggest fan scandals ever.
Basically (what the Allkpop article epically fails to tell you indetail @_@) is Nina started getting into the controversy when she putup a picture of her and a “friend” at a restaurant – she was coveringher face, and the guy’s face was mosaiced so you couldn’t see hisfeatures, but his side profile (and what was left of the mosaic) lookeda lot like Jonghyun.
No problem ,right? Wrong. She spans a whole year (or more) writingdiary entries and comments on her friends’ CyWorld pages on how she and“Jjong” “Jonghyunnie” are dating, and one of the comments to herfriend, she even says she and “Jjong” and her friend should go on adouble date with one of the members from “Jjong”’s band.
Other times, she wrote happy birthdays on her diary entries on the dateof other SHINee members’ birthdays, and this goes on and on and on,basically making it look like she’s dating Jonghyun. And don’t thinkthis is all for fun, because on CyWorld, there’s a checkbox when youleave comments on your friends’ pages to mark your comment “hidden” sothat only that person can see it.
None of her comments regarding her relationship with this “Jjong” wereever hidden comments – basically saying, she wants people to see them.If she was really dating a superstar, wouldn’t she be super carefulabout making sure no one sees those comments?
Then, she signed up on SHINee World (SHINee official fan cafe) under anickname “Mannerful Shawol”, but unfortunately for her, her IP addressgot tracked, and all the comments she left on SHINee World (sayingthings like “Leave them alone” “I talked with Nina and she’s a nicegirl!” and “You guys are just hurting Jjong oppa” etc.) were… Ta dah…The same IP address as her CyWorld…
This got so out of control that SHINee members started being monitoredon every single phone call by their management (because SM startedfearing that Jonghyun might really be dating her), and they were cutoff from meeting anyone outside of their work for a while (so yeah,here’s where the damage part comes in, for all of you guys saying “Nobig deal” @_@). *sian nyerrr
Jonghyun’s close friend, at the request of SHINee World members, wrotea letter talking about how it’s difficult to see Jonghyun and SHINeemembers losing privileges because of the rumors started by this girl,and confirmed that Jonghyun does not even know what this girl lookslike. *me pon x knal*
Then, Nina doesn’t stop there. She writes on her friend’s page (onceagain without the “hide comment” function) “Jjong said sorry to meabout making his friend write that letter” when in fact, SHINee Worldmembers were the ones who had asked Jonghyun’s friend for that letter.
So now, she’s apologizing, but is saying that she never said she wasdating Jonghyun or knew any of the members. But, all these screencapped(so can’t be rigged) evidence of her made-to-look like dating Jonghyunentries and comments are all saved, so she’s ending up looking reallyreally bad.

Yoo Nina at fault for using SHINee’s Jonghyun?
Prior to what was reported earlier, more information regarding YooNina’s incident with SHINee’s Jonghyun and fans have been revealed.
Yoo Nina is currently at fault for intentionally spreading false rumorsin order to ride on Jonghyun’s fame. Although that still doesn’tjustify what the fans did, she was the one who brought this incidentupon herself.
Yoo Nina’s agency continues to state that it wasn’t her fault, andstill believes that the fans have been causing chaos by spreading thoserumors, and will continue to take legal action.
Some fans left a couple comments on a bulletin board stating theirfeelings, “Yoo Nina is trying to use SHINee’s Jonghyun, and now she’smaking SHINee and their fans look terribly bad,” and “This all needs tostop. SHINee’s reputation is getting ruined.”
Proof that Yoo Nina indeed started the rumors herself have also been surfacing on two Naver blogs, viewable here and here. It shows her posts and how she intentionally used SHINee’s name for her own doing, which resulted in this chaos.
We’ll have to wait for official statements to come out to better clarify this issue. Stay tuned!

Yoo NiNa Sues SHINee JongHyun’s Fans
Do not underestimate the power and influence of fanatic fans. In theworst case, it might bring emotional damage to certain people that maylead to worse scenarios.
Recently, the vocalist and rapper of the group ZaZa, Yoo NiNa has sued the fans of SHINee’s JongHyun.
According to her agency, Three Nine Media, Yoo NiNais suffering an emotional breakdown due to negative comments byJongHyun’s fans. She filed a request for investigation at SeoulSeongbuk-gu Police Station and decided to sue the netizens.
Her management stated, “While Yoo NiNa was in a previous girlgroup, JongHyun’s fans began to spread rumors when it was revealed thata person she knew was also named JongHyun and had similar features asthe SHINee member. Because of these attacks, the group had to end theiractivities, and Yoo NiNa went into deep depression and insomnia.”
Yoo NiNa received accusation of plotting a strategy to use JongHyunin order to be famous. She tried to clear the misunderstanding byposting an explanation entry on her Cyworld mini homepage.Unfortunately, the harsh comments did not end even after she made theinitiative.
Yoo NiNa is currently playing the main role in the play I Like Erotic Roles with Lee Pani.

SM Artists pwning Hanteo's album sales chart
The nation’s best music agency SM Entertainment (SM for short)company’s singers (teams) are occupying the album (sales charts) rightnow.
The music sales surveying site Hanteo shows the yearlyalbum sales (as of the 18th) on the 2010 Album Award. Surveyed fromJanuary 1st to (August) 17th, the (number) of albums (sold) in thenation in connection to the sales show that the 1st place goes to SMcompany’s popular boy idol group Super Junior’s full length 4th album Aversion.
Released this past May, this album has currently sold122 232 copies to be in 1st place. The influence of the tile song“Miinah” is big when it comes to the evaluation.
The 2nd placein this field, as expected, is SM’s popular girl group Girls’Generation. Girls’ Generation last January released their full length2nd album “Oh!”(.) They have currently sold 118 644 copies, making themin second place behind Super Junior.
This is not all. 3rd placegoes to SM company’s boy group SHINee. SHINee in the middle of Julyreleased their full length 2 album “LUCIFER – Type A” version, whichhas sold 52 398 copies in less than a month, making them in 3rd place.
SM company’s singers strong (album sales) does not end here.
BoA,SM’s representative female solo singer released a full length albumthis month on the 5th after 5 years (.) As expected album sales in only(a little) over ten days has her name in 6th place. BoA’s 6th fulllength album (released in the country titled) “Hurricane Venus” hassold 44 745 copies since (August) 17 making her in 6th place overall.

Just some translation of Daum interview with Shinee I found on Shakizi.There are more questions, but it seems that they have been translatedby someone already. As before DO NOT TAKE OUT WITHOUT PROPER TRANSLATION CREDIT TO ME, ny111!!!
Disclaimer: There are some awkwardness and translation error but you get the idea. I will edit when I find mistakes.
Question: Oppas, your styles changed… who had the hardest time adjusting to the new style?
1. JH: Member who was most awkward with new hairstyle after seeing himself in the mirror?
2. ON: Key came back to the dorm with very unique hair cut… When I saw him, I went wow, what is this?
3. Key: It’s not very surprising now after seeing it so much.
4. ON: Key is a type who likes to often change his style drastically… Ithink my hair was more awkward. It was the first time I had a 5:5 part(center part)… (laugh)
