[size=+1]Nino and Matsuyama to star in GANTZ event in Japan and US on same day [size=+1]
[quote]Arashi’s Kazunari Ninomiya and Kenichi Matsuyama will make personal appearances at a GANTZ film event in both Japan and the United States on January 20, where the American event will be broadcast live in more than 300 theatres across the country, it was revealed today, reports Oricon and Mainichi Shinbum Digital.
The two stars play the main characters in the sci-fi movie, which will have its world premiere in the United States.
The plan was unveiled at a different GANTZ event held in Tokyo today. After taking part in the GANTZ event in Tokyo on January 20, the two stars will be flown over to Hollywood where their GANTZ event at the Grauman’s Chinese Theater will be broadcast live to 334 theaters across the United States.
It has been reported Matsuyama was more surprised than excited about their schedule.
“When do we get to go to sleep?” he said.
His co-star Ninomiya appeared more confident though.
“I’m so happy that so many fans around the world will be able to see GANTZ. I’ll do my best to fulfill this huge role,” he said.
Because today’s event had coincided with Japan’s Coming-of-Age day, it has been reported a number of new adults in kimonos were seen dotted across the 1500 strong crowd.
“To those of you who have come of age today, congratulations! I hope you become great adults,” Ninomiya said.
Matsuyama talked about what he did on his coming-of-age day a few years ago.
“I didn’t get to go to my coming-of-age ceremony because I was re-sitting my driving test on that day…”
GANTZ will be released in the United States on January 20 and in Japan from January 29. The second part to the movie “GANTZ II” will be released in Japan on April 23.
Before the movie’s second part is released, costumes and props used in the film like the GANTZ ball and GANTZ body suits will go on display in Tokyo, Sapporo, Miyagi, Shizuoka, Nagoya, Osaka, Hiroshima, and Fukuoka.

[size=+1]"Kaibutsu-kun" movie confirmed, budget reported at 2 billion yen
It has been confirmed that the "Kaibutsu-kun" drama series, starring Arashi's Satoshi Ohno (30), has a movie version in the works. The film will be shot in 3D and is said to be a huge project, with some sources reporting that NTV is investing approximately 2 billion yen for the film's production budget. Yoshihiro Nakamura ("Golden Slumber," "Team Batista no Eikou") has been tapped to direct.
Although the drama only averaged 13.9% during its original broadcast run last year, it reportedly had ratings of 24.2% among young children and families. The show already got a special episode last year, and the characters from the show also made an appearance at NHK's Kouhaku Uta Gassen.
This will be Ohno's first solo starring role in a movie. Besides him, the show's main cast will reprise their roles, including Norito Yashima, Ryuhei Ueshima, Choi Hong Man, Takeshi Kaga, Masahiro Matsuoka (TOKIO), Izumi Inamori, Umika Kawashima, and Tatsuomi Hamada. Of course, new characters will be added as well, including an original villain.
Filming will begin this month, and some scenes will be shot in southeast Asia as the story involves Kaibutsu-kun and his friends going on an adventure to a fictional country.
Production is aiming to finish around October. Although an exact release date has not yet been set, various sources are reporting that the film will either be released around Christmas or the New Year holiday season.

TOKIO's Taichi Kokubun to run Tokyo Marathon
Sat, January 8, 2011 (9:20pm EST)
TOKIO member Taichi Kokubun (36) has declared that he will be taking on the challenge of running his first full marathon. On February 27, he plans to participate in the annual Tokyo Marathon, and he stated that he will aim to complete it in under four hours.
Kokubun currently appears as the main caster (called the "chief editor") on the Saturday broadcasts of the Fuji TV show "Sport!" The program's production team asked Kokubun at the end of November about the possibility of running the marathon. Since he is already a sports enthusiast who enjoys activities such as futsal and jogging on his own time, he agreed to the proposal, saying that he has no reason to refuse. He also said that it his responsibility as the "chief editor" on the show.
Kokubun quickly began training three times a week under the guidance of a specialist. He reportedly tries to squeeze in training at every opportunity, despite his hectic schedule. He is a regular on 10 different radio and television shows, and TOKIO is preparing for a nationwide tour that begins in March. He was quoted as saying, "Using 'I'm busy' as an excuse is the most uncool."
The Tokyo Marathon has been held in its current form since 2007. Many celebrities have participated in the marathon in past years, including Fuji TV announcer Rio Hirai (28), actor Masato Wada (31), and talento Erika Okushi (30).

“I’ll call them up a lot to ask, ‘do you want to go out for dinner?’, and we’ll go out as a family. My family runs a Chinese restaurant and the other day they asked me, ‘what should we put on the new menu’ (laughs). How am I supposed to know.
“Just recently, my little brother surprised me by saying he was going to get married. I’d met his girlfriend a number of times, and she’s had dinner with us, but, I can’t help but feel that he beat me to it really easily (laughs).”
Having just turned 28 himself, Aiba-san contined to tell us about his reaction.
“I’d always felt that marriage was something still way down the line, but now it feels quite close,” he said.
So what kind of woman would he want to marry himself?
“I’d rather be with a woman who is straightforward and puts her best effort into everything than someone who’s always formal. It would be great if we could encourage each other for the better.”
You seem like you’d look after a girl, but what if you abandoned her to hang out with your guy friends!?
“No, of course not. I’d even bring her along when we play baseball. I’d be like, ‘you, be our manager’. I’d make sure that we can enjoy things together!!”
Perhaps the force behind Aiba-san’s unlimited energy isn’t just his fellow Arashi members or fans, but also his family…
