2PM has announced that they’ll be making a comeback as early as January next year!
JYP Entertainment stated, “2PM is currently working under the schedule of making a comeback early next year. We can’t give any details on the exact timing yet but it will be in the beginning of the year.”
This will mark their first comeback in a year six months since their ‘Hands Up‘ release in June of 2011. Since then, the boys have been focusing on international activities while hinting at a comeback in September or October of this year.
Their achievements in Japan seem to have set plans back a bit, as they’ve been named the hottest K-Pop star by many insiders in the Hallyu industry. Their November 14th single release in Japan hit 130,000 sales in its first week.
JYP representatives continued, “The members are all looking forward to their Korean promotions. We’d love it if you all looked forward to it as well.”
2PM lands on cover of Japanese magazine ‘Hanako’ for 3rd year in a row by elliefilet - 2 hours ago
2PM has landed on the cover of popular Japanese magazine Hanako for the third year in a row.
What’s especially notable is that the popular weekly women’s magazine has only featured people on its cover a few times. The 2PM members were the first Korean artists to grace the cover of the yearly ‘Korea Special Edition’ in 2011, which sold out. Last year, 2PM and their brother group 2AM were both featured on the cover.
The upcoming 2013 ‘Korea Special Edition’ featuring 2PM will be released on February 14th, making 2PM the only artists to have ever made Hanako’s cover for three consecutive years.
Hanako’s editorial department commented, “2PM are loved for their Korean albums as well as their Japanese music, and each of the six members have fans of different ages. In the third year since their Japanese debut, 2PM have confirmed themselves as a talented group, and they’re making a boom here. With their Tokyo Dome Concert coming up in April, many are looking forward to 2PM’s growth as artists.” JYP Entertainment stated, “The fact that 2PM has graced the cover of Hanako for the third year in a row indicates their hot popularity there. Considering K-Pop is popular in Japan, we’re happy that 2PM became the first Korean artists to be featured on the cover, especially for three years. We’d like to express our thanks to the fans who love and support 2PM.”
