sedikit info ttg putera mahkota (kwang hai)
sebenarnya putera mahkota pernah mendapat sokongan drpd permaisuri yi ren(tak pernah muncul dlm drama hur jun) sebelum raja yg tak guna tu mangkat. malangnya permaisuri yi ren mangkat pada thn 1600, iaitu 8 thn sebelum kemangkatan raja. kedudukan putera mahkota tergugat krn dia belum mendapat pengiktirafan dr kerajaan china (kerajaan china enggan mengiktirafnya dgn alasan bhw dia bukan anak permaisuri). tambahan pula, permaisuri yg baru telah melahirkan putera Yong Chang (dan seorang puteri) banyak menteri pula yg membantah pertabalannya. demi mengukuhkan kedudukannya, putera mahkota telah membunuh semua menteri yg enggan menyokongnya selepas menaiki takhta. dia juga membunuh putera Yong Chang, abang kandungnya sendiri, dan anak-anak Renpin (termasuk puteri).
tindakan kejamnya telah mencetuskan kekecohan. ramai rakyat jelata yg mati kebuluran.....menteri2 yg sokong permaisuri Renmu dan Renpin bekerjasama utk menjatuhkan Kwang Hai. Kwang Hai dibuang negeri dan menteri2 paksa anaknya bunuh diri. lepas tu cucu Renpin ditabalkan sbg raja. |

Dongeuibogam
<Dongeuibogam> is a medical text compiled by Heo Jun, Jung Jak, Yang Yae Soo and others by the order of King Seonjo in his 29th year(1596). Compilation finished in the second year of Gwanghaegun憇 reign(1610). 5 years in total was taken in publication of this medical book by the royal clinic. The publication of <Dongeuibogam>was ordered by King Seonjo to Heo Jun in order to put together pre-written medical books in the country. However the publication business was put to stop when in 1597 the Japanese war broke out and caused the medical practitioners to scatter. After the war, King Seonjo again ordered Heo Jun to continue working on <Dongeuibogam> and provided him with 500 volumes of books in the palace library as reference. Heo Jun put all his effort in the business but before he was half finished, king Seonjo passed away. The book was finally finished in the second year of Gwanhaegun抯 regime, 15 years after the beginning of the publication. Compared to <Hyangyakjipsungbang> published in King Sejong's time, <Dongeuibogam> not only has a very organized structure but being written in reference of <Inner Classics>, its contents contain medical knowledge of the Jin and Yuan dynasty of China. Among the medical knowledge of the Jin and Yuan dynasty, <Dongeuibogam> contains mostly Li Dong Yuan and Zhu Dan Xi憇 medical theory. The medical theory of these two find the cause of the disease within the patient, not outside. Thus, their idea is to put human in the center of studying the disease. Having inherited this idea, <Dongeuibogam>'s structure differs from other books. It is made up of two parts, the internal and external parts. The former part of the book tells about the human body, the latter explains ways to preserve health and ways of curing a disease. Contents are divided into five categories: internal organs, external form, maladies, potions, and acupuncture. Each category lists its clause according to type, and type of each clause divides to item. After each clause, facts of diseases and ways to cure them along with their sources are listed thoroughly. Ancient solutions to each disease are listed for readers to easily see and in some parts, traditional remedies and actual experiences are listed.

Planets Named After Korean Scientists
By Kim Tae-gyu
Staff Reporter
Five minor planets in the Solar System that were discovered by Korean astronomers will be named after some of the nation抯 legendary scientists.
The Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) on Tuesday said the five asteroids will be designated in honor of scientists Choe Mu-seon, Yi Cheon, Jang Yeong-sil, Yi Sun-ji and Heo Jun.
The five scientists are inscribed at the Korea Science and Technology Hall of Fame. A total of 14 historic Koreans put their names on the institute set up by the MOST and the Korea Science Foundation.
Korea Astronomy Observatory researchers Jeon Young-beom and Lee Byung-chol found the small planets during 2000 to 2002 at the Bohyunsan Optical Astronomy Observatory in North Kyongsang Province.
The team led by the two astronomers suggested naming the planets after the five scientists mentioned above and the International Astronomical Union approved.
The five planets lie in the asteroid belt between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter. Asteroids are believed to be the primitive building blocks of the Solar System, left over from the time of its formation.
The first terrestrial body named in Korean was Sejong, an asteroid which was found by a Japanese and named after King Sejong of the Chosun Dynasty in 1998.
Afterwards such minor planets like Tongil and Bohyunsan were also titled in Korean.
Choi Mu-seon (1325~1395) was a general and an inventor of gunpowder manufacturing technology. With the new weapons, he helped shield the people from invasion by Japanese pirates in the late time of Koryo Dynasty.
Yi Cheon (1376~1451) led the prosperity of science in the King Sejong era of Chosun Dynasty by inventing several astronomical instruments, which reached world level status in the 15th century.
Jang Yeong-sil (1390~1450) was a self-made mechanical scientist of the Chosun Dynasty. Born as a slave, he was responsible for the invention of water clocks and bronze-type printing technology.
Yi Sun-ji (1406~1465) was responsible for the development of astronomy in the Chosun Dynasty. He is famous for having established the nation抯 indigenous calendar.
Heo Jun (1539~1615) is touted as a founder of Korea抯 traditional medicine. He successfully integrated the medical traditions of Chosun and China
