IT seems like everyone wants to have a piece of K-Pop, even early in the year. Interestingly enough, it is a double trouble treat of K-Pop proportions as two media giants feature the same Korean artistes in two days of K-overdose.
DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (DiGi) is kicking off 2011 in style through its expanded music proposition into Korean pop music. In collaboration with Universal Music Malaysia, DiGi is hosting the first K-pop party in Malaysia with three top Korean acts performing live at Stadium Negara tomorrow night.
Exclusive to DiGi customers only, "DiGi Live K-pop Party 2011" is headlined by six-member boy band, Beast, five-girl group, 4Minute and solo artiste G.Na, performing their respective top singles at the first all-Korean act party in the country for the new year. All three bands are scheduled to arrive straight from Seoul this evening with a packed schedule the minute they touch down on Malaysian soil.
Unique music experiences were also lined up for over 150 lucky DiGi customers who won once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to meet their Korean idols. Exclusive slots were given to customers to be part of the Welcome and Farewell Troupes as well as a TV show recording, where the artistes will be demonstrating their dance moves.
"Our DiGi customers get to enjoy bundled packages that included party passes, a 30-day free trial of DiGiMusic Pluz service, mobile content of all three Korean artistes, special discounts on the artistes' albums and official merchandise," said DiGi head of segment marketing, Moharmustaqeem Mohammed.
The K-pop party will start at 8pm with each artiste expected to take the stage for about 40 minutes. Fans can expect to be entertained with heart-stomping performances of the artistes' hit singles from their album releases, including Beautiful by Beast, I My Me Mine by 4Minute, and Supa Solo by G.Na.
DiGiMusic Pluz is available at a usual monthly fee of RM5 for the first 10 MP3 songs downloaded and RM1 for each subsequent song.
Remember, the showcase is Jan 13, at Stadium Negara. Don't miss it. For more details about the K-pop party, visit www.digi.com.my/kpop.
If the showcase is not enough, Beast, 4Minute and G'Na will also perform live at the K-POP HITZ Private TV recording hosted by Astro Hitz on Jan 14 at Mist Club, Bangsar. Audience registration will start at 3pm and doors open at 5pm.
"K-Pop has exploded beyond its country of origin and we're privileged to host this exclusive TV recording to give fans a chance to experience this mainstream cultural phenomenon," said Astro Hitz channel manager Cheong Cheng-Vei.
Fans who want to win tickets for the star-studded TV recording need only to purchase any album by Beast, 4 Minutes, or G'Na at participating music retail outlets, or log on to Facebook and add Astro Hitz as your friend.
