Behind the scenes photos of actors Kwon Sang Woo and Soo Ae filming “Night King” were released.
The SBS drama “Night King”, which will air in January, released photos of their two leading actors studying the script. In the series, Soo Ae will play a woman who has the strong ambitions to be the First Lady, and Kwon Sang Woo will play the man who will sacrifice everything to protect her.
In the first picture, Soo Ae is laughing at Kwon Sang Woo who is over-acting his lines in the script, and in the second, the two are seriously looking over their scripts in a restaurant. These photos were taken in a riding ranch in Ansan. In the cold weather, Soo Ae’s delightful laughter warmed up the staff members.
There are many expectations for the drama, especially with Kwon Sang Woo and Soo Ae’s well-suited portrayals of the characters. The set’s atmosphere was relaxed because of the chemistry between the witty Kwon Sang Woo and the demure Soo Ae.
Soo Ae, who calls Kwon Sang Woo “Hallyu Oppa,” said, “Kwon Sang Woo did so well. As we became immersed in the script that it became very comfortable. I think we will have good chemistry.”
Kwon Sang Woo also said, “In the drama, my character thinks of Soo Ae’s character like an angel, so to be immersed in the character I will do the same.”
“Night King” will air in January and also stars Jung Yunho, Kim Sung Ryung, Go Joon Hee and Lee Duk Hwa.

On December 20, Verdi Media revealed two photos of Kwong Sang Woo and Soo Ae rehearsing for the new Monday and Tuesday SBS drama called “Night King.”
In one of the photos, the two actors are helping each other on their scripts while eating. The other photo captured Kwon Sang Woo making Soo Ae laugh during filming with his funny body gestures. It is clear from the photos that the two are having fun while working on the drama.
Soo Ae said, “I have to concentrate and try to understand my character in order to act well. Kwon Sang Woo makes me to feel comfortable and supports me. I feel great working with him.”
Kwon Sang Woo replied, “In the drama, my role is to always care and support Soo Ae. I try to be the same when acting or in real life so that I can feel like the character I am playing is really me.”
The drama “Night King” which airs in January, is based on a man sacrificing himself for a woman who tries to be a first lady.

Well it sure is purty. Judging from the sad overtones of their love story and her cutthroat ambition, he’s gotta be the man she has to leave to get what she wants. The lines from the teaser:
Su Ae: The person I loved more than the days that we met / Missed more than the days I had loved. Kwon Sang-woo: With eyes wide open, awake all night / I thought I could die with that person and be happy. Both: The one who simultaneously foretold the world’s joy and its end / I loved that one person.
Heavy. I guess it wouldn’t be much of a melo if she got to have both love and success. On the upside, we get to watch Su Ae act her heart out? Mostly what I got from that teaser was, I miss watching her play a badass, the rest of Athena notwithstanding. Yawang follows King of Dramas and premieres January 14 on SBS.
