1 September 2011 UEE draws praise for her drunken acting on ‘Ojakgyo Brothers’
It seems that After School’s UEE has hit the motherlode with her latest drama project, KBS’s ‘Ojakgyo Brothers‘. The praise has been rolling in nonstop for her better-than-expected acting skills, especially with her latest portrayal of a drunken, bitter woman.
For her more recent shoot, UEE had to act like she was drunk to the point of stumbling. Though she was dead sober, staff members were so convinced by her acting that they questioned whether or not she had any alcohol, and praised her as a “natural-born actress”.
"In order to express her drunken emotions, UEE studied other movies and dramas. She also likes parties since she’s a sociable person, and we think that some of her experiences came out through her acting,” commented a person familiar with UEE.
According to staff on set, UEE managed to keep up the act throughout the entire duration of the shoot, which lasted around eight hours.
A drama representative stated, “Thanks to UEE and her ability to act without touching a single drop of beer, the shooting set was more lively and energy-driven than usual. Since this is a scene where ‘Baek Ja Eun’ expresses her stress and suffering, her feelings will be able to directly touch with the viewer’s sympathies.”

Uee wows netizens with her various expressions.
Ever since Uee’s drama ‘Ojakgyo Brothers’ aired she has been received praise for her believable portrayal as the character Baek Ja Eun. Interest in Uee’s expressions has been raised as netizens have counted 20 different types. Uee is showing audiences that she is not just a pretty face but a natural and talented actress who has a wide range which help viewers feel every emotion portrayed on the TV. Because of this Uee is receiving a lot of praise not only from netizens but also from the ‘Ojakgyo Brothers’ staff.

After School’s a-nation tour brings in explosive sales for “Bang”
After School has successfully completed their participation in Japan’s prestigious ‘a-nation‘ tour!
Every year, Japan’s biggest record label, avex Entertainment, brings together 40 of the best stars that year for a nationwide tour. The concert is something of a dream stage for singers in Japan, so After School found themselves very lucky with the opportunity. The girls made full use of it, and thanks to their spectacular performances, they’ve earned themselves thousands of new fans and sales for their debut album, “Bang“.
A concert official at the scene commented, “With their perfect live and performance style, After School proved their talent at the ‘a-nation’ concert. They received a lot of praise from the audience for showing the worth of a Hallyu star. Out of all of the girl groups making Japanese advancements at this time, they’re one of the most anticipated stars.”
“Bang” ranked in at 7th place on its first week on the Oricon chart. Immediately after the ‘a-nation’ concert, orders for their album were said to have skyrocketed, completely selling out the first batch produced.
The girls were also invited to perform at the ‘MTV ZUSHI FES 11‘.
After the successful debut in Japan, After School released a Japanese version book, "Brunch Essay".
Brunch Essay is the translation of the Korean book "Play Girlz". This book contains After School's hopes and dreams, family love and candid stories. It also contains brunch menu and recipes.
According to Officials in Japan, "After School is becoming popular in Japan. As expected, Bruch Essay is attracting great attention too."
After School's Brunch Essay version also includes the member's unreleased cuts and pictures.
