World抯 First 3G Video Conference Service With New TV Commercial
ASIA : 3 Hong Kong is once again leading the market by introducing the world抯 first-ever pre-book exempted 3G video conference service. Using their 3G video mobile phones, up to four 3抯 customers can participate in a video conference at any time, from Hong Kong or different parts of the world. The extraordinary power of this pioneering service will be demonstrated in 3 Hong Kong抯 new TV commercial series that premieres tonight on major TV channels with Leon Lai once again playing the main role.
3 Hong Kong is also unveiling the brand new LG 8330 video mobile phone. The new phone features a 260K-colour main LCD screen for enhanced display quality. Meanwhile, the special-edition LG 8180 in black that Leon Lai features in 3抯 new TV commercial is now available. With immediate effect, any new subscriber purchasing video mobile phone from 3 Hong Kong, will receive free entitlement to 3抯 new video call and content package (valued at $28 per month) for the first three months. The new package includes 30 minutes of video call and 30M of multimedia image/video content.
3 Hong Kong is also launching the territory抯 first 3G Rechargeable SIM card. By providing access to a huge range of mobile video capabilities, including voice/video calls, text/video/multimedia contents and mobile data services, the SIM card will ensure users experience the unique power of 3G mobile communication.

The new "Live 3 - Sharing" TV commercial premiered the night before at Times Square, and the World's first 3G video conference service was launched. Leon, the leading actor of the ad, brought along Kate Tsui, the leading female actress of the ad to attend the ceremony and they were each given a special version mobile phone by the organiser. In the activity, Leon played games and gave out prizes to the audience. When the first prize winner who won a mobile phone knew that the others got a poster autographed by Leon, she actually wanted to exchange the mobile phone for the autographed poster.
The ad was filmed at the fishing ports in Kyushu, Japan. Leon said that there were 2 days where they had to take a fishing boat out to the region of the sea with very big waves for filming. Therefore, many of them were sea-sick and vomitted. Asked whether Leon was sea-sick? He said, "The director, cameraman, and me were able to withstand it, because I could stand along with the rhythm of the waves. (Did you take pills for sea-sickness?) Those who took it all vomitted." As for Leon seldom film commercials with Hong Kong female artistes, Leon revealed that the advertiser wanted to find an amicable and pleasant girl as the leading female role. Leon also praised that Kate Tsui was smart and fit. After vomitting on the boat, she was able to start filming immediately, and made the filming process go smoothly. In the ad, Leon carried a very huge tuna fish, he said, "The most expensive tuna fish cost $700,000, more expensive than a BMW. (Did he try the fish?) We did not get to eat it at the fishing port, because all of them are to be shipped out to the town to sell."
Being her first time working with Leon, Kate was both happy and nervous, she said, "Leon would talk to me and make the atmosphere less tense. He also taught me how to act. (Vomitted how many times?) About 5 times, there's no use even though I had taken sea-sickness pills." About Leon praising her being professional, Kate thanked Leon for his praises, she said, "I'm a newcomer, everyone has high expectations of me, and it's a rare chance for me to get such a big production, and to cooperate with experienced actor and director. Although the filming was arduous, it was a very happy experience."

Ayah Leon, nama dia Lai New Sin yg berketurunan Hakka. Ada info yg mengatakan Lai New Sin ni Malaysian-Chinese yg kemudiannya berhijrah & menetap di Beijing. Lai New Sin boleh dikatakan tergolong drp mereka yg educated sbb dia graduated dari universiti di Beijing. Selepas tamat blaja dlm awal tahun 60-an, dia berhijrah ke Indonesia & buka bisnes kat sana. Bisnes apa, aku pun tak dpt kesan sbb Leon tak penah bagitau! Suatu masa berlaku rusuhan anti-Cina di Indonesia |

Zaman persekolahan rendah & menengah
Gambo Leon masa umur 7-8 tahun.
Tahun 1973, iaitu ketika Leon mencecah usia 7 tahun, ayah Leon membawa keluarganya berhijrah ke Hong Kong. Masa tu bisnes dia dah okey. Masa Leon mula2 menjejakkan kaki ke Hong Kong, dia slalu jatuh sakit sbb tak biasa lagi dgn cuaca Hong Kong. Dia dihantar blaja ke sekolah rendah pd tahun tu juga. Kesian Leon, kat sekolah semua classmate pulaukan dia sbb Leon tak reti speaking dlm kantonis. Dah ler gitu, dia kena ejek 揵eruk Beijing |

mungkin pasnih cassio cari ape tajuk die pastu kasi tau awak. Tak kisahlah...pinyin dan translation pun boleh...cuma takut awak busy je. |

The large-scale fund-raising gala to raise funds for the poor children in China will be held on 22 June at the Beijing stadium. Previously, Leon had agreed to compose the theme song for this event and recently, he had completed the work and would pass it to the lyricist to pen the lyrics and Mark Lui will be the producer. As for the song title, it is "8858" as the fund-raising hotline for the event will be "8858". This song will be sung by more than 10 singers from China and Hong Kong, including Leon, Kelly Chen, Andy *** and William So etc. Later, there would also be an MV for this song. |
