Also known as "Money Crazy," the original manga tells the story of a young man who loses his sick mother as a child due to poverty. As a result, he becomes completely obsessed with money. The drama version follows the same premise, but is set in the present day instead of during the 1970s. Screenwriter Yoshikazu Okada is in charge of the script.

Gamagori Futaro is an unattractive young man who loses his sick mother as a child due to poverty. He subsequently becomes obsessed with money and is willing to do anything for it. While working for a millionaire he shows his knack for business and in a plot to acquire his company he marries his daughter. In order to take over his father's vast wine collection, he must face off against his adopted brother in a contest to find specific wines, even though he originally has no knowledge of wines.

Naoki Tanaka, one half of the comedy duo Cocorico, will be playing a key role in an upcoming NTV drama series. "Reset" is inspired by a horror comic written by mangaka Mayuri Yamamoto, who is also known for "Honto ni Atta Kowai Hanashi" and the "Reinousha" series.

The drama consists of individual stories, each featuring a different star. In each episode, the main character is faced with an "ultimate choice" that will determine whether they can "reset" their lives for the better. Tanaka will play a "time guide" named Anri who watches over the protagonists and appears to them during their crucial moments.

The series will lead off with a 2-hour special starring Masahiko Tsugawa as Anri, followed by Tanaka taking over the role later the same night. NTV will premiere the show in January, placing it in the Thursday 11:58pm time slot.

The popular late-night drama series "Tokumei Kakaricho - Tadano Hitoshi" is to get a prime time (called "golden" in Japan) slot on TV Asahi, it was announced yesterday. We've run a couple of recent articles on the growing profile of the show and its current big screen version, and mentioned that the show is famous for its sex scenes that often feature real porn stars. Well, for a Thursday 9pm time slot, the show will be expected to cut back on the nudity. But star Takahashi Katsunori, said they will push the boundaries as far as the censors (and the viewing public) will allow. A few days before the series starts on January 8, there will be a special featuring former Morning Musume member Nakazawa Yuko (35), though there was no mention of how much she will bare.
