여배우로서 황금기라고 할 수 있는 26살의 구혜선에게 지난 1년은 변신의 연속이었다.
26 year-old GHS could be referred to as an actress with great monetary potential, (hope I translated it correctly), but the past year has been her year of continuous changes.
2008년 촬영해 놓은 단편 영화 데뷔작이 빛을 봤으며 내친김에 장편 영화 '요술'을 연출하며 사람들의 머릿속에 '감독 구혜선'이라는 이미지를 심었다. Receiving shining praises for her 2008 short film, GHS pushed ahead and directed another but full-length Magic. She has planted inside the public's mind of herself as a director.
그뿐만 아니다. 소설 '탱고'를 출간하며 소설가가 됐으며 발표회를 통해 일러스트레이터와 작곡가라는 명함을 추가해 넣었다. It is not just that. She published a novel, TANGO, becoming an author. She has also added to her list of talents as an illustrator and a composer.
마침 TV 드라마 '꽃보다 남자'가 시청률 대박을 터트리며 배우로서 한창 이름을 날리던 게 1년 전의 상황. 감독 변신의 부담감 없이 그저 '잘 나가는' 연기자로만 생활했어도 잃을 것은 없는 상황이었다. Having her last drama, BOF, becoming a huge hit a year ago, she could have easily lived well as an actress.
단편 연출데뷔작 '유쾌한 도우미'를 가지고 일본 홋카이도에서 열린 유바리 국제판타스틱영화제에 참석 중인 구혜선에게 '신인 감독'으로서 솔직한 포부를 들었다. While attending YIFFF for her debut short film, Cheerful Caretaker,, GHS expressed her honest aspiration as a new director.
그는 "영화라는 게 우열을 가리는 게 아니라 자신의 생각을 표현하는 것이라는 생각에서 부족하지만 용기를 내 연출을 하게 됐다"고 감독 변신의 계기를 밝혔다. (I am not sure how well I translated ) GHS: "I think of movies as an expression of one's thoughts, not as pointing out good and bad. I am still inadequate but decided to have courage and direct movies."
'요술'의 촬영은 잘 마무리 됐나. Magic's filming ended fine.
▲21일 크랭크업 해 25일 영화제에 왔으니 촬영 끝나고 바로 일본에 온 셈이다. 조금 머리를 식히는 시간도 필요하고 해서 영화제에 참석했다. Shefinished filming on Feb 21st and flew to Japan on Feb 25th. So shebasically came pretty much right after completing the filming of hermovie. She says she needed to cool off her head so came to the festival.
한국에 돌아가면 바로 편집을 시작해야 하니 쉬고는 있지만 머리가 복잡하다. 아직 머릿속에 촬영의 잔상이 남아있다. 어떤 장면을 어떤 식으로 편집해야 하나 하는 생각을 하다보면 밤에 잠이 안오기도 한다. Assoon as she returns to Korea, she has to start editing her movie.Although she is resting, her head is not. Still, her head is full ofafter-images of her film. Continuously thinking about which imges toedit and how is keeping her awake at nights.
--배우 이외에도 감독, 소설가, 작곡가, 일러스트레이터 등으로 쉴 틈 없이 바쁜 시간을 보내고 있다. As an actress, director, author, composer and illustrator, she is continually being busy without rest.
▲(일) 중독인 것 같다.(웃음) '유쾌한 도우미'도 사실은 드라마 '최강칠우'에서 연기하던 중 잠시 짬을 내 3일간 촬영한 것이다. 소설도 '꽃보다 남자'에 출연하면서 쓴 것이다. My work is like an addiction (laughter). While acting in Strongest Chilwoo, I took off three days to film my short movie, Cheerful Caretaker.
(OneDC fan comments that she wants to see GHS act in one drama, direct onemovie and act in one movie every year so that GHS is always visible.)

두 사람은 26일 밤 우연히 만나 영화에 대해 의견을 교환하기도 했다. These two people met by chance the night of Feb 26th and exchanged their thoughts about movies.
이들의 만남은 구혜선이 영화제에 초청된 다른 독립영화 감독들과 함께 있던 자리에 오구리 슈운이 인사차 찾아오면서 성사됐다.While GHS was sitting with other invited, independent directors, Oguri Shun came over to say hello.
오구리 슈운은 "한국 영화는 박력이 있어서 좋다. 우리(일본)도 한국 영화 못지 않은 좋은 영화를 만들겠다"고 말을 건넸고 구혜선은 "영화(슈얼리 섬데이) 재미있게 봤다"고 화답했다. OguriShun: "I like Korean movies because they have power. I hope that Japanmake as good movies as Korea. GHS: "I really enjoyed watching Surely Someday (Oguri Shun's full-length directorial debut).
이들은 27일 열린 기념촬영 자리에서도 나란히 서서 웃는 얼굴로 이야기를 나누는 등 가까워진 모습을 보이기도 했다.
OnFeb. 27th, at the commemorating photo session, these two stood side byside, talking with smiling faces, showing that they have become close.
