M and Shin Hye-sung to Hold Concerts in Korea & Japan on Sept.28
Shinhwa members Lee Min-woo and Shin Hye-sung will hold solo concerts in Korea and Japan, respectively, on the same day. To celebrate the release of his fourth studio album, Lee will launch his "M Rizing Tour" by performing at Club Answer in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul. He will then go on to perform at the JCB Hall, located within Tokyo Dome City in Tokyo, Japan for two days from December 17.
Meanwhile, fellow Shinhwa member Shin will hold a launching ceremony for his official Japanese fan club "Always Hyesung" in Odaiba, Tokyo on September 28. He will hold two concerts entitled "Always Hyesung Le Petit Chambre" in front of the members of his fan club. Reportedly, all of the tickets to the event have already been sold out.
During his first solo concert in Japan held last year on August 25, Shin told audience members that his friend and fellow Shinhwa member Lee Min-woo (M) was also holding a concert in Seoul.

Phase 2 of the Shinhwa members' solo careers is now in progress. Eric will be entering the Nonsan Training Center in South Chungcheong on 9th Oct to start serving his military duty, and in the meantime the other members will be involved in album promotion, concerts, musicals and variety programs. It will probably take another 4-5 years before the 6 of them reunite for group activities, and until then, the members will have to define their new roles after military service.
Junjin said at his concert on 5th September, that he is confident that "it will be the new era of Shinhwa when all of them return from the army." Until then, what are the plans for Shinhwa members?
The Army
Shinhwa members are all active in their solo careers now, and the first hurdle they have to cross is the issue of military service. The first to cross this hurdle will be leader Eric, who gave up his US citizenship in 2003. He will be serving in the civil service, and will return to showbiz after his army stint. After establishing himself as an actor with the dramas such as Super Rookie, KSA, Que Sera Sera and Strongest Chil Woo, Eric is likely to become the most-searched keyword after his return from the army.
There are no official events on Eric's pre-enlistment schedule at the moment, but he has featured in Son Dambi's new song Micheosseo (Crazy), which is likely to be released soon.
Concerts
Shinhwa fans have been in a happy dilemma lately, as the members are all holding solo concerts with dates very close to each other's. Four members are holding solo concerts in Seoul in September alone -Junjin on 5/6 Sept; Andy on 6/7 Sept; Dongwan on 20/21 Sept; and Minwoo on 28 Sept.
Other than Eric, all other members have released solo albums to relatively good reviews, paving the way for them to hype up their solo activities with concerts. Junjin prepared for his concert while establishing himself in the variety scene, while Andy's endearing title track has made its way into the hearts of fans.
Andy, who had held a series of small concerts titled The Miracles of June at the beginning of the year, said, "It was kind of a miracle that Andy could become a solo singer, that's how I came up with the name." Overcoming his insecurities, Andy will be presenting a true concert this time round. Kim Dongwan will also introduce the fans to his own musical style, and will be performing genres including rock and J-pop.
Lee Minwoo, who is the most experienced with concerts among the members, will be holding an album launch concert on 28 Sept. Equipped with a powerful stage charisma, and recognized for his musicality, he is the first Shinhwa member to become a producer/songwriter/lyricist.
Variety Shows
Since 2004, Shinhwa has become known for their performances on variety shows, perhaps for being idols who are able to amuse the viewers with their endearingly silly antics.
The members show their different personalities on variety shows, and among them Junjin is the most active on the variety circuit. Junjin earned himself the nickname of Junstin Jinberlake after releasing his first solo album featuring title track Wa, and has become a mainstay on several variety shows since then. He didn't react to the netizen's parodies of his song, and just went about his own business. Now with an attitude where he tries his hardest even at the smallest game, he has charmed his way into the hearts of the viewers.
Acting
Other than main vocalist Shin Hyesung, other members have all tried their hands at acting. Eric in particular, has been very active in dramas; while Kim Dongwan, Lee Minwoo, Junjin and Andy have experiences in movies, dramas and musicals.
For the rest who are not about to enlist yet, they still have the time for other acting projects, and they are apparently going through some scripts.
Change of Image
For his 3rd album, Shin Hyesung has suddenly abandoned his usual genre of ballads and moved on to other genres such as rock. Side 1 - Live And Let Live features the title track Because Of You, a Britrock track, while Awaken is an alt-rock track.
Shin Hyesung says, "I'm trying out other genres for now, and I hope that the change will help to make my ballads even better."

[news] 090808 SBS "Family Outing" Viewers Request JunJin's Permanent Appearance
Recently, SBS "Family Outing" have been receiving many requests from viewers to have singer JunJin as a permanent member of the family.
JunJin's appearance in FO for episodes 9 and 10 left a strong impression on the viewers and actually helped the show surpass other Sunday competitors MBC "We got married" and KBS "1N2D".
Viewers believe that JunJin's appearance will make FO more interesting and the singer fits well with all members and doesn't give the feeling of a guest at all.
Responding to the public, FO representative expressed: "We understand that FO fans want to see JunJin again on the show. We cannot guarantee anything but we will try to find a way to make it come true."
Idol singer JunJin, who has been exceptionally active in many TV shows, just held two very successful concerts on 5th and 6th November at Melon AX Hall.

[news] 090908 Younha: Dongwan once read my letter during his DJ stint
Making a comeback with her 2nd album, Younha talked about her special connection to Kim Dongwan. Both appearing on SBS Kim Jung Eun's Chocolate, they talked about their encounter as radio DJ and listener.
Kim Dongwan was hosting MBC Radio's Ten Ten Club back in 2002, and Younha - who had yet to make her debut then, sent in a letter to congratulate her seniors on their graduation. Incidentally, Kim Dongwan picked out the letter and read it.
Younha said, "I was a faithful listener of Ten Ten Club, and I still recorded on tape the moment he read out my letter." Kim Dongwan was surprised at her revelation, and continued to share more experiences from his stint as a radio DJ.
The episode will air on 10 Sept at 12.25am.

Singer Shin Hyesung has joined SBS' Family Outing with the image of the warmhearted guy in the family.
A spokesperson said that Shin Hyesung had so much fun during the recording over 8th and 9th September in Muahn in Jeonnam that he joked that he wanted to become a regular member.
In fact, Shin Hyesung did nearly become part of the fixed cast. He was approached during the planning of the show, but he had to reject the offer as he was preparing for his 3rd album, which has sold out since its launch on 26 August.
Recent guests on Family Outing have all become topics of interest among netizens. Shin Hyesung demonstrates irresistible charm, while Lee Cheon Hee has established himself as Cheonderella with his delicate features and honest character. [08.09.11][news] Shinhwa's Lee Minwoo scheduled to enlist next May
Shinhwa's Lee Minwoo (M) is scheduled to enlist for military service in May 2009. However before that, he will hold a 4-part concert that kicks off with the Club concert on 29 September.
He will be holding 2 performances at 4.30pm and 8pm on 28 Sept at Cheongdam-dong's Club Answer, to commemorate the launch of his 4th album. This will be Part 1 of his 4-part concert.
Lee Minwoo said, "It will be like all my concerts, I will stick to my image of a musician, and I'll present the best performance to the fans."
About the 8.30 performance being restricted to fans aged 19 & above, he said, "I feel bad about not having all the fans being to attend the show, but after the launch of the album, I'll make it up to the Korean fans with showcase-style concerts."
According to a spokesperson, the plan for the M Rizing Tour is as such: Step 1 - Club Answer, followed by Step 2 - Asia Tour in mid-November, then Step 3 - Adieu 2008 at the end of the year and finally Step 4 - New Begin which will be his final concert before enlistment.
