News from Dramabeans
Song Il-kook (A Man Called God) and Song Ji-hyo (Goong) were first paired in the 2006 sageuk blockbuster Jumong, and now they find themselves paired again in the upcoming KBS drama Crime Squad.
Not having watched much of Jumong, I can’t tell you what their chemistry was like then, but they sure look playful and winsome here (which makes me see Song Il-kook in a different light, actually, since he’s always played such intense characters). And, yeah, a bickering couple cuffed together (the less intentional, the better) always makes me laugh. (It’s for that reason only that I got suckered into watching Three Brothers for waaaay too long, I think.)
In Crime Squad, he plays a homicide detective while she’s an intern reporter. As you might tell from these stills, they get off to a rocky start; they find each other irritating but have to put up with repeated run-ins, clashing all the while.
Song Il-kook said of his co-star, “Working with Ji-hyo again after four years, we’re meshing together extremely well. Since we’re good friends, the mood on set is very easy and I’m able to act comfortably, for which I’m thankful. We make up for each other’s weaknesses, and together, I want to make this a good drama.”
Song Ji-hyo said, “Song Il-kook sunbae has gotten into his character to an astonishing level, so as his colleague, I’m learning a lot. He’s always very thoughtful on set toward the staff and cast, and takes such care to make the set an enjoyable place that I’m grateful to him.”
The drama will follow Dream High on Mondays and Tuesdays, and premieres on March 7.
The cast of “Homicide Division” completes their first script-reading
by VITALSIGN on January 18, 2011 at 4:04 pm
The cast of KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama, “Homicide Division“, got together for the first time in order to complete their script-reading.
According to information revealed by a representative on January 18th, Song Il Kook, Kim Seung Woo, Sun Woo Sun, Song Ji Hyo, and Kim Joon arrived on location in comfortable attire, and they each took turns expressing their unique characters.
They all revealed that they couldn’t contain their excitement over their new roles, and made sure to have fun with their first script-reading. The maknae of the team, Kim Joon, focused especially hard, as “Homicide Division” marks his first drama project in a long while.
KBS 2TV’s upcoming drama, “Homicide Division”, have revealed still cuts of T-Max’s Kim Joon!
Kim Joon plays the role of the Homicide Division’s maknae investigator, ‘Shin Dong Jin,’ who has a smart head but an odd tendency to run away from crime scenes that involve corpses or blood. Although he seems quite average, his hilarious and unpredictable character is expected to give the drama some comedic relief.
The idol introduced his character by expressing, “‘Shin Dong Jin’ is smart, but he also comes from a wealthy family so he looks as if he’d lack nothing. He actually has a lot of fear and a habit of fainting, so he’s a fun character overall. One of his biggest charms is his ability to make others laugh, even in serious situations.”
The drama will begin airing on March 7th.

Will Kim Joon’s “chestnut hair” become a new fashion trend?
Kim Joon recently changed his hair to a “chestnut hairstyle” for his drama.
With Kim Joon acting as genius detective Shin Dong Jin in KBS 2TV’s new drama, “Homicide Division,” Kim Joon changed his cute image 180 degrees.
The unpredictable character of Shin Dong Jin that Kim Joon plays is said to be unmatched in cyber investigations, but is actually a very timid character and gets scared easily. He is said to faint whenever he sees a dead body and draws frowns from the people around him.
Kim Joon’s stylist stated, “To match Kim Joon’s image of an unpredictable modern detective, we cut his hair short, and dyed it a bright chestnut color. Despite the simple styling, Kim Joon’s handsome features still stand out and received a lot of praise from the staff members.”
Kim Joon has received a lot interest for each of the hairstyles he had. Fans are wondering if Kim Joon’s new hairstyle will be the beginning of a new fashion style.

After made a cameo in SBS Athena : Goddess of War, Kim Seung Woo landed in upcoming KBS drama titled Homicide. Homicide tells story of police detectives who solves their cases with unique ways.
Kim Seung Woo will play a handsome and charismatic police chief named Jung Il Do. His character is a man who often called as police representative man, a man who thinks that police official clothes are more suitable than usual / private ones as well as a formal suit is closer than a detective jumper. He also describes as man with persuasive talking skill and faithful voice.
Kim Seung Woo on his upcoming role : I’m strongly interested in this drama as it’s orthodox investigation material. Especially, Jung Il Do’s character looks very interesting for me.
Good casting ! 42-year-old Kim Seung Woo is 100% believable for that kind of role.
Homicide also starring Song Il Gook and will debut February 28.
