You learned the wrong Tae Kwan Do. What you had learnt was sport version. You should have learnt the combat version.

Most TKD masters did not know combat version. They too learned the sports version.

If it happens in a closed enclosure, how to run?

Then you have to be topless in the street to show your shredded muscles and also wear swimming trunk to show your quads, hamstring and calves.   Did you know that bodybuilders do not have stamina to run?

You better take up marathon running.  More practical than Muai Thai.

Actually.. I want to say is I believe that every type of Martial Art has Combat Version in the early.. BUt it was because that
some people did not learn the ART completely and may be not very master the ART. So, AFter they have graduate(May be
not qualify) he set up a centre to teach..

Thats why, there were a lot of Execise Martial ARt in the Market now.. They did not have the combat experience but they
can teach the form only.. U know what i mean ??? Thats why ours Taijiquan has a old saying..

"In the Beginning, It is the Student who r looking for a Good MAster.. In the End, It was the Master who r looking for the right
Student"

You are absolutely right..

reminds me of the beautiful boxer... the student want to quit as he say muay thai is noting but violent.. that is becasue he haven see the art of the combat..

right now, it iseasy to get a cool and great student

but it is hard to get a good students....

You can easily get any student and train him to kick the board and do the stunt thing... but you will find it hard to get a student who is humble always and willing to learn and never cocky and never show off his skill....

I once faced a school bully.... my friend father came... then he warn my friends father that he is tae kwon do black belt.. don mess with him.... then he kicked my friend`s dad...

my friends dad pinned him down with a punch.

You see... not only in martial arts.. but also other thing that people nowadays lack of.. ethics and passion

This is a Qi Gong. Taiji is also a form of Qi Gong or meditation in motion.

You see here TKD sport is a long range combat. Too much kicks and lack of hand combat. When comes to close contact fight, TKD can't use kicks. That's why TKD lost. On the other hand, pushing hand is a close contact combat provided you learn all the striking methods. All fights will eventually end up close contact. Pushing hand is very practical in real life self defense but it takes time to learn. You can bring down a bigger opponent. Size doesn't count if you are good at it.

My two Si Tai (teenagers) brought down two adult bullies in a street fight. Even tho they had not mastered pushing hand, they managed to use it to defense themselves.

You can't slam and dunk on the tar road. The wrestling you saw on TV were all bull. Those wrestlers were actors, merely for entertainment only.
