Nitro vs gas- Your experience?

I would like to try something different than electric. I've never had a combustion engine rc before. What do ya'll think is better? Nitro rc or gas rc? The little nitro's seem pretty rad but maybe high maintenance and finicky. The gas 20 sumthin to 30 sumthin cc rc's seem like they would be easier. More of a weed eater type motor? And if that's true I dump pre mix gas in my weed eater and change the plug once in awhile and thing goes forever. So what's better? I'm not racing.....yet anyways. Just wanting to have fun with it and not have too much of a buttload of maintenance to deal with for amount of fun time.
