This is all set to change with the latest Protection Service for Business (PSB) – a unique breakthrough in technology providing total protection and increasing the productivity of businesses, introduced by leading global online security company F-Secure.

“This unique cloud-based solution protects computers (PCs, laptops, Macs), file servers (Windows and Linux), email servers (Microsoft Exchange) and mobile devices (phones and tablets) ensuring up-to-date protection at all times,” added Fredrikson.
Echoing Fredrikson’s sentiments, Palmer explained that, with Malaysia being Southeast Asia’s third-largest economy and ranking sixth in the list of the world’s 20 emerging markets, PSB is expected to spur the SME security market and is a perfect fit for small and medium sized businesses in Malaysia.
PSB Solution: Products
PSB Workstation SecurityEnsures protection of all a customer’s computers with one subscription, regardless whether they are on a Windows PC, Mac or hybrid environment. Windows protection safeguards computers against all malware, while Mac protection is an antivirus-only solution with the ability to control the system firewall. The PSB Software Updater proactively scans computers for mission operating system and third-party application patches, making it easier to keep them up-to-date.
PSB Server SecurityProvides effective protection for Windows and Linux servers. Real-time and scheduled scanning ensures that no malware is stored in a business’ file servers. The Windows version includes antivirus, behaviour analysis and cloud-based reputation technology (DeepGuard), whereas the Linux version includes antivirus and allows control of the system firewall.
PSB E-mail and Server SecurityComplete protection for servers running Microsoft Exchange. The product contains three modules and is licensed per usage. It includes enhanced cloud-based protection with DeepGuard, Browsing Protection for terminal users and centralised quarantine management. E-mail and Server Security supports Windows, Microsoft Small Business Server, Microsoft Exchange, Terminal and Citrixservers.
PSB Mobile SecurityThe product is available for Android, Symbian and Windows Mobile platforms. Mobile Security contains antivirus, antispyware, firewall, antitheft and browsing protection, with some differences between operating systems.
New Feature: Software Updater
Protection Service for Business comes with a new feature – PSB Software Updater, that ensures operating systems and third-party applications used in the organisation are up-to-date. It provides visibility of the latest real-time security status and lowers risks associated with unpatched software. It can proactively scan computers for missing operating system and third-party application patches, which can be deployed either manually or automatically, or scheduled at the IT partner and customer’s convenience.
The next product on the cards for the Finnish company is Freedome, which is a super-simple security and online privacy solution that allows users to browse safely in a virtual private network, blocking harmful sites as well as applications. It also shields the user’s privacy, giving anonymity and a clean digital footprint, away from the eyes of advertisers or cyber criminals.
“Freedome is a game-changing technology which is set to alter the web-sphere significantly. The first-of-its-kind product will be released in Malaysia later this year, as one of the many F-Secure outreach product plans, along with Younited and PSB,” explained Fredrikson.
