Turbojet Designed & Developed by UiTM in 2006

Since the project was completed around 7 years back, not much detailed information is available online today. And whatever photo there was of the engine has long ago been taken off the web.

According to this technical paper written in broken English, the research involves the 'design anddevelopment of a complete single spool turbojet for missile application based on J85-21 turbojet specification' as well as the 'design and development of a turbulence chamber'.
The combustor was of the can-annular type which is totally different to the annular combustor in the J85 engines.
And 'An experimental jig was design and developed to collect the experimentation data and then compared to the simulated data'.

In his website here , Dr Nik Rosli Abdullah stated that he was leader of the group that designed and fabricated the turbine blades.

While Dr Thomas Arthur Ward mentioned a PhD thesis by Ismail Ibrahim titled "The Jig Analysis and Simulation Study of a Jet Impingment Cross Flow Turbulence Turbojet for Missile Application".

This engine also demonstrates the capability of Malaysians to develop rudimentary gas tubines big enough to propel jet trainers andF-5 size combat aircrafts.

Entah. Ko tanya UiTM

Turning a turbojet into a turbofan is relatively easy and would add roughly 50% more thrust.

Adding an afterburner is also easy and would increase thrust by another 50%

LANGKAWI: Snecma is keen to invest in Malaysia over the long term, while focusing on developing the knowledge and skills of Malaysians through the building of a Centre of Excellence at Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara) institutions.

Snecma is part of Safran, an international high-technology group specialising in aerospace, defence and security.

At a signing of memorandum of understanding ceremony recently between Snecma and Mara, both parties agreed to build the centre to develop a study programme aimed at meeting aerospace industry requirements.

"The objective of this collaboration is to contribute to and develop Malaysia's capabilities in the global aerospace industry's supply chain through the development of human capital, technological skills and entrepreneurship," said Snecma vice-president and general manager (military engines) Didier Desnoyer.

He said Snecma would bring the training and education module from Safran Corporate University in France to Malaysia.

"We aspire to not only train students, but also produce trainers from the centre so that the company will have local expertise for the industry."

Mara director-general Datuk Ibrahim Ahmad said the collaboration signified Mara's aim to produce highly skilled and innovative talent, in line with the government's transformation plan. Bernama

The govt should provide incentives to develop this turbojet further.

Malaysia already has the brains. What this nation needs now is the willpower

Why two different team developing the turbojet engine? Is this different from the other doctor's project?

BotakChinPeng Publish time 2-6-2013 03:59 AM

There was only one team developing it. This engine was made in 2006while the Nagasakti missile progremme only started in 2011

Kalau Nagasakti tak sampai ke peringkat pengkomersilan pun tak mengapa.
Medium range missile bukannya penting sangat.
Dengan memiliki sendiri keupayaan membangunkan enjin turbin gas berkuasa tinggi, bermacam lagi senjata canggih yang lebih penting boleh dibangunkan oleh malaysia.

Insight: Unable to copy it, China tries building own jet engine

(Reuters) - China has designed nuclear missiles and blasted astronauts into space, but one vital technology remains out of reach. Despite decades of research and development, China has so far failed to build a reliable, high performance jet engine.

This may be about to change. China's aviation sector is striving for a breakthrough that would end its dependence on Russian and Western power plants for military and commercial aircraft.

Beijing is evaluating a 100 billion yuan ($16 billion) plan to galvanize a disjointed and under-funded engine research effort, aviation industry officials say. The giant, state-owned Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC), China's dominant military and commercial aviation contractor, has been lobbying hard for the extra money, officials familiar with the details say.

Toksah citer byk. Stendet kat Malaysia, MINDEF x pandang pun hasil buatan anak tempatan. Paling tinggi, beli lesen pembuatan dengan pengeluar asal produk pertahanan tersebut pastu setup kilang kat Malaysia.

heh ...
