When he died, Larsson left behind manuscripts of three completed but unpublished novels written as a series. He had written them for his own pleasure after returning home from his job in the evening, and had made no attempt to get them published until shortly before his death.

His second novel, Flickan som lekte med elden (The Girl Who Played with Fire), received the Best Swedish Crime Novel Award in 2006, and was published in the United Kingdom in January 2009.
The third novel in the Millennium series, Luftslottet som spr鋘gdes ("The air castle that was blown up"), published in English as The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets' Nest, was published in the United Kingdom in October 2009, and the United States in May 2010. nok... girl with the dragon tattoo kat US belum keluar lagi la... tak tau la kalau dorang buat underground punye.. dorang baru je buat screening untuk critics last week and unfortunately , the movie is yet to be reviewed by anybody sebab dorang kene dok diam2 dari buat ape2 review. except hari tu ade sorang movie critics dari new york ni TERlepas critics dalam new work mag kalau tak silap aku.. itu pun SATU SATUnya review kat dunia ni untuk US version.. belah mane pulak ko tengok review yang banyak2 tu..
trailer untuk 8 mins pun baru keluar last 2 weeks...
