Siapa yang bakal menyangkakan bahawa seekor kucing jalan bakal mengubah nasib dan hidup seseorang itu dengan lebih baik. Bahkan, seekor kucing juga boleh menjadi teman hidup yang paling setia lebih daripada manusia itu sendiri.
Seekor kucing jalanan berwarna oren yang terkenal dengan panggilan Bob ataupun ‘Street Cat Bob’ telah berjaya menyelamatkan hidup seorang pemuda James Bowen dari terus hidup bergelumang dengan kancah dadah. Bob dan James buat pertama kali bertemu diantara satu sama lain pada tahun 2007.

Kemudian,pada 2012 James menulis dan mengeluarkan sebuah buku mengenai Bob, yang dilihat mempunyai makna istimewa dalam hidupnya. Kemudiannya, beberapa buah buku lagi dikeluarkan disebabkan oleh sambutan yang mengalakkan.

Filem A Street Cat Named Bob dihasilkanPada tahun 2016, kisah hidup mengenai James dan Bob dikeluarkan. Paling menarik sekali, filem tersebut dilakonkan sendiri oleh Bob si kucing comel berkenaan. Jelas sekali, filem ini menarik perhatian dunia dan pengikut Bob semakin bertambah.

Bob pergi pada usianya 14 tahun
Kini, kebanyakan pengikut Bob berasa sayu dengan berita kematiannya sehinggakan nama Bob trending di laman Twitter hari ini. Bob dilaporkan mati pada 15 Jun 2020 pada usianya di 14 tahun.
Berita kematian mengenai Bob si kucing berwarna Oren ini telah diumumkan melalui laman Facebook dan Twitter rasmi milik Bob.

Mr Bowen said he hops the statue reminds passers-by that "everyone deserves a second chance and that no-one is alone"

Mr Bowen credits his scarf-wearing companion with aiding his own recovery.
At the unveiling Mr Bowen said: "I am so incredibly proud of Bob and grateful for the time we shared.
"He enriched my life from the moment I met him. He saved me and he touched the lives of millions, providing optimism to people across the world.
"My hope is that when people visit Bob's statue, or as they simply pass by, that they will take a moment to remember that everyone deserves a second chance and that no-one is alone."
While homeless, Mr Bowen began taking the ginger cat with him when busking or selling The Big Issue in London.

A Street Cat Named Bob: And How He Saved My Life was published in 2012, and there have since been five further books released in more than 40 different languages.

The statue overlooks the Islington Waterstones bookstore, where James wrote his first book recounting their journey together.
A second film, A Gift from Bob, which also features the eponymous feline, was released posthumously in 2020.
