Programming skill dah rusty..HELP!!

HI. Saya ade masalah so harap2 orang yg keje bidang IT ni bley tolong
Saya baru je grad over half a year ago. After grad terus dapat keje.
Saya grad dalam bidang software engineering gak lah. Tapi masalahnya keje yang aku dapat bukannnya software development tapi bidang software testing and implementation.
Memang seronok keje bidang ni coz kena banyak selesaikan a hands-on task. Lagi2 system yang aku handle tu x beberapa nak stabil lagi coz still in paralell.
Plus, hari2 dapat meet the user so it has improved my communication skill and my english skill.
And it was a valuable experince kalo nak jadi for example a project manager in the future coz i basically did UAT, attend meeting with user,did business requirement,etc.
Because it has improved my communication skill, saya boleh ace job interview session. Alhamdulillah.
But the job also has a downside. Keje less technical therefore make my programming become RUSTIER. AIYO.
The most technical job i did while i was there were backend jobs mcm data migration, sql reporting, error troubleshoot with db.Basically just sql programming ler. HUHU.
Kalo ade bug aku just hantor kat developer kat offshore. Kadang2 nak gak tanya why,what,etc regarding the bugs tapi depa pon cam bz and a bit arrogant.
Sekarang ni dapat keje baru as a programmer. Memang rasa mcm starting fresh coz pengalaman as a programmer mmg ILEK.
Keje baru ni basically i was told involve websphere,db2,etc. This are relatively new to me.
Dah baca,paham but still x confident.Maybe coz task x dapat lagi kot. Baru je start a couple of days ago.
masalahnya benar2 xde confidence sekarang Feels like going to war with no bullets everytime going to work.
And seeing my colleagues yg working overwhelm me.They're look like aggresive and advanced bunch.
Aku plak rasa mcm grunt giler ah.
Mcmana nak dapat confidence dalam bidang programming ni balik after lama dah ditinggalkan?
Sorylah cite panjang melebar tapi biasalah. Nak solve a task kena tau every bit of details of the problem first.. Cheewah!hihi

Lagi satu ,apa tips2 korang nak adapt ngan for example a new language? Is the learning process usually take time or what? aku admit i dont have much time on my hand so how you guys manage to do it?

first, pakcik gugel boleh banyak membantu in terms of looking for specific syntax for specific Programming Language.

Normally what i did was, prepare in pseudo code. then try to map them into real source code.

it works and to master in a certain programming language do takes time. bukan boleh dalam sehari dua..

anyway good luck :)

tapi yang dari scratch tu..er..:L

Programming ni macam naik basikal la. Once ko dah reti, ko akan reti selama-lamanya.

Walaupun dah lama tinggal, maybe akan sedikit berkarat. Tapi dia punya general idea tu still ko akan boleh ingat punya la...

BTW, new language apa yang ko belajar tu?

Belajar new language maybe agak mencabar. Cam aku dulu, lepas satu satu bahasa aku belajar. Lepas C aku try Python, pastu aku try Perl, pastu aku try shell scripting. Bila nak gunakan, dia kadang tu jadi cam bercampur baur sebab setiap satu bahasa ni sintaks dia ada yang bertindih dengan bahasa lain...

Tapi in term of algorithm, kalau sekali kita dah pernah buat, general idea tentang algorithm tu insya Allah masih ada lagi...

kadang-kadngang asp.net
Programming sama je bagi aku untuk semua language.
Contohnya
ada guna x.substring ada guna substr(x).
Cold fusion je pelik sikit bagi aku.Coding oop guna tag based.

Kalau yang guna x.substring() tu, selalunya dia OOP. Kalau yang guna substring(x) tu, biasanya procedure based programming...
