Some additional thoughts on Still

I was pondering if I’d make this a single post. I finally decided topost it, because I did want to share some thoughts with you guys.
I guess my tone in the Episode 1&2 review might be a littleoverly harsh and blunt, since so far I barely read any favorablecomments towards the show at Bumsso. As I said before, my beingcritical doesn’t necessarily mean I didn’t enjoy the show or it’s not adecent drama. Let’s just say I was a little bit worried, about how thisshow actually would turn out to be, and if Kim Bum’s heroine and promptmove could lend him to another major career breakthrough. I was wary ofseeing any weak spots in this show that might fail catering to themass’s liking. However, after seeing the first two episodes, I was–even aware that this show might not be or will not be a bigblockbuster– especially glad that Still, with a lot of light-heartedand emotional impact and depth, is heart-warming and honest at its best.
I read some comments mentioning that one of his buddies just received abetter drama offer (I believe you guys know who I’m talking about). Iunderstand the rationales here, but I didn’t see anything equivalent tocompare . It might fall into the category of luck. Luck, however, isjust not something you can count on. As a “rookie” in the showbiz, the20-year-old is probably still at his career exploration stage, managingto try different things out, and looking for his own position/standing.I’m happy seeing him in huge-budget show with all the buzz around,meanwhile I’m also contented watching him in more low-profile dramapolishing his acting skills. I think something I really appreciate ishis making his best endeavor to keep going forward, for every singlestep. I do, though, like to see him pair-up/work with some A-liststars. What I expect more, however, is that he works his way up tobecome an elite actor himself some day, in the future. Most important,I believe he will not make us wait too long.
P.S. Not sure if you guys have noticed that Javabeans is recappingStill now, up to Epi 2. As an avid follower of her blog, I’m in awe ofher writing skills and insightful thoughts. Thus, I don’t think itwould be necessary for me to continue the recapping. Hopefully, withher recaps, more people will take a liking to Still. Enjoy, guys!
