MEDIA Prima Bhd has appointed Datuk Amrin Awaluddin as the new group managing director effective September 1.

Amrin, currently the group chief operating officer at Media Prima,replaces outgoing group managing director/chief executive officer, Abdul Rahman Ahmad.

This was announced by Media Prima in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today following the release of its second quarter results.

In May, Abdul Rahman announced his departure from Media Prima after serving for eight years and upon the expiry of his contract on August 31.

Amrin will also be assuming all positions at the group and subsidiaries level vacated by Abdul Rahman.

Amrin has been with Media Prima group for more than eight years.

He was initially the chief financial officer of TV3 and was instrumental in the incorporation of Media Prima through the restructuring of the formal media assets of Malaysian Resources Corporation Bhd. - Bernama
