pertahanan negara apabila Batalion 165 Risik dilancarkan secara rasmi di Kem
Lapangan Terbang di sini hari ini.
Pelancaran kor tersebut yang disempurnakan Panglima Tentera Darat, Jeneral
Tan Sri Muhammad Ismail Jamaluddin dibuat bagi memenuhi keperluan semasa dan
nasional dalam memantapkan operasi perisikan demi kedaulatan negara.
Menurut beliau, penubuhan kor yang kini berstatus operasi berkenaan dianggap
penting bagi membolehkan TD bergerak sebagai pasukan berkebolehan dan
berupaya untuk menangani pelbagai misi.- Utusan.

(Royal Intelligence Corps)
Kor Risik DiRaja (Royal Intelligence Corps) specialises in intelligence gathering, intelligence analysis, psychological warfare (i.e., psy-ops), surveillance, espionage, reconnaissance and counter-intelligence operations. It also manages the propaganda and counter-propaganda effort of the Malaysian Army.
History
Kor Risik DiRaja was formed on 7 November 1969. However, its roots can be traced back to 1953, when Private Hashim Rauf was attached to HQ 355 Field Security Section (FSS) Intelligence Corps (British), followed by the attachment in 1955 of other officers and non commissioned officers for the Royal Malay Regiment, the Federation Reconnaissance Regiment and Federation Engineers to the 355 Field Security Section.With the independence of Malaya, Malayan members of the Federation Army were transferred back from 355 Field Security Section to form the Federation Field Security Section (FSSS) and combined with the Federation Military Police (FMP), Provost Section and the Special Investigation Section under the Federation Military Police Corps. In 1959, due to the differing roles of the Military Police and the Intelligence Units, the Federation Field Security Section was reconfigured and placed under the Malayan General Service Corp (MGSC-Int.).
In 1963, when Malaysia was facing the dual threat of the Insurgency by the Malayan Communist Party the Confrontation with Indonesia, the unit was enlarged and became the Ministry of Defence Intelligence Unit under the Joint Intelligence Directorate at the Ministry of Defence (Malaysia). Kor Risik was formally formed on 7 November 1969 by then Malaysia Armed Forces Chief Jeneral Tunku Osman Tunku Mohammad Jewa.
On 7 June 1997, Kor Risik was formally bestowed the 揜oyal
Organisation and Structure
Colonel In ChiefTuanku Ismail Petra the Sultan Kelantan is the present Colonel In Chief. The Director of Defence Intelligence is the Chairman of Kor Risik DiRaja.

7 3!! Kecekapan perisik tonggak keselamatan negara

DITUBUHKAN sejak awal 1970-an, Bahagian Staf Perisikan Pertahanan (BSPP) antara jabatan terpenting dalam Angkatan Tentera Malaysia (ATM), khusus bagi mengendalikan operasi risikan dan pelbagai misi mustahil lain.
Malah, jabatan itu berperanan penting dalam melakukan pengesanan awal, selain pengumpulan maklumat berhubung sebarang anasir atau kegiatan yang dikhuatiri boleh mengancam keselamatan negara dan ketenteraman rakyat.
Ketua Pengarah Perisikan Pertahanan, Lt Jen Datuk Mohd Salleh Ismail, berkata BSPP sebahagian daripada agensi dipertanggungjawabkan bagi meningkatkan keupayaan sistem keselamatan negara melalui maklumat risikan yang diperoleh.
揇alam menjamin keselamatan negara dan ketenteraman rakyat, elemen perisikan amat penting kerana ia membantu perancangan strategi bagi menghalang serta bertindak balas dengan mana-mana anasir jahat atau musuh negara.
