Politics: your takes? (refer 1'st post)

Now that the election day is over..;P

Tell us! What's your take on politics? Analysis, dissection, comments, feeling... anything...

Just remember good etiquette. If this thread becomes like those threads in C.I. board, I may have to cut, hack and slash without giving any explaination...;P
Which I don't like.:D

If it becomes uncontrollable this thread may go bust (or moved somewhere)...

Justē‡½e nice.

I may write more tomorrow.
Probably my comment would be on emotional aspect of it (and sedona since that my current interest)...;P

Let's start!

salam,

at the rate where it is going now i 'd say it would be rather disappointing at least for the party that i adore and the leader that i really admired so much well, the previous leader of course!:loveliness:

My take is, a general election is a day of joy and celebration if one gets what one has wishes for and a day of despair if it didn't. We cast our vote without any maliceand there shouldnot be anyretribution if other voted for the opposite party. We are merelyexercising our constitutional rights as citizenof the beloved land.

Politics is a very emotional thing.

It seems that people's need for securities overrides all other consideration.

Thus this general election seems purely motivated by the basic needs of survival, security and safety.

I would say that this time around, people makes decision from their wanting of security, and also their want of control.

There are uncertainties amongst various races about the power sharing of the new state governments.
I think we should give them time to sort out their differences. And the people should be patient and not to play with fire. There are people out there trying to poke fire to damage the new alliance.

it's not just "politic" if it just a broadway episode of "general election" then i won't be too bogged down on that . with politicsthere will be policy making, reshuffling , revsiing and when one talks about policy it will also have impact on the development of a nation and a country. That's why people go to have some sense when casting the votes.

it's time for our govt to have the check and balance system. its been too long for one party to manipulate the power. we may expect some glitches for the 1st year, but i have faith in the coalition to put down all and work together for one goal... if they're truly acted as leaders of the people.

i think i bought the idea of BANGSA MALAYSIA which was gazetted a long time ago.
and guess what? i still live with that hope to unite and be equal, regardless of our ethnicity and only see unity of being the same nationality.
difference of religion? its a matter of preferences, like in many other countries. people shouldn't be herded into a cage!

This is a corny joke about politics

What Is Politics?A little boy goes to his dad and asks,"What is politics?"
Dad says, "Well son, let me try to explainit this way: I'm the breadwinner of the family, so let's call me capitalism.Your Mom, she's the administrator of the money, so we'll call her theGovernment. We're here to take care of your needs, so we'll call you the people. The nanny, we'll consider her the Working Class. And your baby brother, we'llcall him the Future. Now, think about that and see if that makes sense,"
So the little boy goes off to bed thinkingabout what dad had said.
Later that night, he hears his baby brothercrying, so he gets up to check on him. He finds that the baby has severelysoiled his diaper. So the little boy goes to his parents' room and finds hismother sound asleep. Not wanting to wake her, he goes to the nanny's room.Finding the door locked, he peeks in the keyhole and sees his father in bed withthe nanny. He gives up and goes back to bed. The next morning, the little boysays to his father, "Dad, I think I understand the concept of politicsnow."
The father says, "Good son, tell me inyour own words what you think politics is all about."
The little boy replies, "Well, whileCapitalism is screwing the Working Class, the Government is sound asleep, thePeople are being ignored and the Future is in deep poo."

Sometime people work so hard... half expecting themselves to fail....

and they win!

And they go what!?!:funk:

Life's funny that way.;P

mbhcsf Publish time 17-3-2008 11:55 PM

hmm....true enuff actually dear Agul, but that is quite a simple statement lah...it does carry everything with the winning and losing as well...........

some have the experience of : campaigning and losing
while other : winning all the time

so the dice really did magic ler ( God never play dice as Einstein put it ) but i think a persin need to look into tehmselves and self evaluatung

but what worries me is the policy , policies will alwayschange should there be a new established g/ment in place, kan

what would be the greatest impact in the country's developmentfollowing the changes in certain policies,
this is not a child's play
i wonder what is pak lah 's thesis is like ? i am so sos sosos wanna eat my thesis now...:@

Everything fkluctuates. Changing. Let us realise that we're in constant state of flux and not get work up on the past.

Adapt. Adapt. Adapt.

Well, well, well.....you probably heard this before..I mean this another corny joke

'Cows & Politics Explained

A CHRISTIAN DEMOCRAT:You have two cows. You keep one and give one to your neighbor.

A SOCIALIST:You have two cows. The government takes one and gives it to your neighbor.

AN AMERICAN REPUBLICAN:You have two cows. Your neighbor has none. So what?

AN AMERICAN DEMOCRAT:You have two cows.Your neighbor has none. You feel guilty for being successful. You vote people into office who tax your cows, forcing you to sell one to raise money to pay the tax.The people you voted for then take the tax money and buy a cow and give it to your neighbor. You feel righteous.

A COMMUNIST:You have two cows. The government seizes both and provides you with milk.

A FASCIST:You have two cows. The government seizes both and sells you the milk. You join the underground and start a campaign of sabotage.

DEMOCRACY, AMERICAN STYLE:You have two cows. The government taxes you to the point you have to sell both to support a man in a foreign country who has only one cow, which was a gift from your government.

CAPITALISM, AMERICAN STYLE:You have two cows. You sell one, buy a bull, and build a herd of cows.'

The ruler must adapt to the changes in political climate.

We must adapt, by evaluating the condition in 5 year and make the best choice in the short run and the long run.

It's not like that we're constantly affliated to any parties. Change as the situation warrants.

The art of politics decision<>

Men are political animals and I think that we, as an electorate, must live with those we vote for . . . for a long time.Voting is an intricate mix of intrigues, logics, rationalism, morality and wisdom. If we vote for insecure, weak people, we live with the resulting poor decision making for many years, because insecure leaders will create elaborate conspiracy theories in an attempt to keep us as insecure, fearful, and weak as they are, because when we are fearful, we can easily be deceived.

Political stand is like answering the objective question void of absolute answer. After all nothing is absolute. Its like the Siddhartha's spiritual journeywhere the river is permanent but the flowing water change. An archaic political manifesto shall be consigned to the historical garbage dump.
