 mgu lepas Kirisame ngan Tokiwa lepak kat port klang..Japan to Upgrade Another AEGIS Destroyer, Buy SM-3 ABMs
http://www.defenseindustrydaily.com/images/SHIP_Kongo_Class_DDG-176_Chokai_lg.jpgOn June 8/07, the US DSCA announced Japan's request for Ballistic Missile Defense upgrades to one AEGIS Weapon System (Lockheed-Martin Maritime System and Sensors in Moorestown, NJ), AEGIS BMD Vertical Launch System ORDALTs (BAE's Mk41 modifications, Minneapolis, MN), 9 SM-3 Block IA STANDARD missiles (Raytheon in Tucson, AZ) with MK 21 Mod 2 canisters, containers, spare and repair parts, publications, documentation, supply support, U.S. Government and contractor technical assistance and other related elements of logistics support. The systems will be installed on Japan's Kongo Class AEGIS destroyers, and the total value, if all options are exercised, could be as high as $475 million.
A similar upgrade & purchase request was made on June 5/06. The JMSDF is working closely with the USA on missile defense activities, which includes modification and improvements to the SM-3 long-range anti-air/ABM missile as the outer layer of Japan's ABM system, deployed from its Kongo Class AEGIS destroyers. Air Force cooperation has also improved by leaps and bounds, allowing for much closer coordination with the USA in all aspects including missile tracking. This article covers the elements of that request as they are fulfilled

Entah la .. tu mesti kes tetido dlm kelas kot .. ;P ;P 16DDH Hyuga Class Helicopter CarrierThe Hyūga class destroyers are a new type of helicopter destroyer (DDH) being built for the Japanese Maritime Self Defense Force. It is planned to replace the Haruna class destroyers currently in use. The new ships will be the largest combatant ship operated by Japan since the end of the Imperial Japanese Navy. In design it resembles an aircraft carrier or amphibious assault ship.
The class' code-name (16DDH) derives from the Japanese calendar, specifically the 16th year of the Heisei reign (2004), when the provisional title was given.
Design and Specifications
The Hyūga class has a through-deck design to maximise potential space for launching and retrieving its helicopter complement. As a result it resembles a light aircraft carrier. However, it will not be fitted with a ski-jump or other equipment necessary to operate fixed-wing aircraft.
The ships' primary mission will be anti-submarine activities, using the helicopters on board. They will also have a command-and-control function, serving as flagships for the MSDF.
The Ships will be able to carry up to eleven helicopters, relying on a 16-cell VLS carrying the ESSM SAM, along with the Phalanx CIWS, for self-defence.
