24pc of the world's cranes are in Dubai
Dubai: About 30,000, or 24 per cent of the world's 125,000 construction cranes, are currently operating in Dubai, according to the organisers of the Conmex construction machinery exhibition.Demand for construction related machinery, equipment and vehicles is expected to continue rising in the Middle East, especially in the UAE due to the continuing construction and real estate boom.
In 2003, the UAE's market for heavy construction machinery stood at $165 million, road construction machinery at $142m and earth moving machinery at $125m. The size has increased by 15-20 per cent since then, said the report carried in a Dubai newspaper.
Annual market demand for used machinery in the Middle East is valued at over $1.3 billion.
Although construction activities in the UAE are concentrated in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, the other emirates are not far behind.
"The entire GCC region, particularly the UAE, is currently attracting astronomical investments in the real estate and the construction sectors," said Saif Al Midfa, director-general of the Expo Centre Sharjah, the organisers of Conmex, the exhibition for construction machinery and equipment.
Dubai, which continues to be the centre of construction activities, has experienced an increase in real estate investment from $2.9bn in 2000 to $44bn now.

nak tingkatkan industri pelancongan sebab minyak dah nak abis Petrol dijangka habis dalam 15 tahun lagi di Dubai. Maka Putera Mahkota Dubai mengarahkan satu transformasi ke atas landscape Dubai secara mendadak bagi bersedia jika ekonomi berasaskan minyak jatuh. kekadang tu aku pun nak tgk gak keaslian senibina islam dalam pembangunan.Tapi agak western skit tapi menakjubkan Yup betul. Tapi aku tgk design bangunannya terlalu kebaratan, dgn steel structure, curtain wall etc. Yelah, dah rata2 dia org engage european consultant.
Aku tak tau lah pada korang cemana, tapi pada aku mcm tak best lah sbb kebanyakan GCC cuba nak meniru bentuk2 bangunan di Dubai. Mungkin sbb consultant/architect yg sama atau taste emir/raja2 arab ni serupa kot? entah lah. ader gambar burj al-dubai under construction tak??? some of the cranes untuk projek2 kat Dubai tu company Malaysia yang punye, iaitu Favelle Favco. company ni mmg famous dalam bab2 cranes..ie.tower cranes, port cranes. crawler cranes and etc..

pssss...banyak btol cranes bersepah sepah :o: kalo buat mcm ni kat mesia..sure ade yg komplen masuk tv3 la..harian metrola..padahal syabas nak buat renovation ker ??? ker smp buat iklan..hheheh UAE atau dubai nih hutang sebnarnyer bertrilion ... tapi diorang buat tapi aku takut nanti tuhan tunjuk balak sekali haruk habis kemegahan orang arab!!!
