Istanbul, aboard the Orient Bosphorus tonight

Edited by nurrlisa at 30-10-2019 10:04 PM

Istanbul, aboard the Orient Bosphorus
In your deep embraceTonight I own the moonAnd the stars aroundAcross the two bridgesSongs and all the celebrationsAs we sip wines and pop the champagneWhile twinkle of lights reflectedThe shower of Dolmabahce palace
Aboard the Orient Bosphorus tonightThe white robe of the Sufi dancersRumi's whirling dervishesSpinningAs dhikr to God, to rememberThe god in all of usOf love and kindness often forgotten
In this moment of oneness with GodI'm thankful for the bountyAnd the mercyOf life only to be lived in joy
I am again in ecstasy

en guzel sozler!!very profound andenlivening words TT!i loved how you presented the poem with such emotion and perfectly complements the piece.

next time try to write a rhyming poem ....

example :

i hate to depth and profundity of insight,
my psyche can reach when feeling out of sight,
rhythm in my soul causing despair beyond melancholy,
false confessions to act of sheerfolly.

Thank you KN for such nice words. {:1_149:} I really appreciate it. I wrote this poem during a dinner and a cruise on the Orient Bhosporus ship a couple nights ago. It was a magical night and I felt really peaceful and emotional at the same time. Usually moments like this, I feel close to God, seeing the stars, the vast ocean and how nature and man coexist peacefully usually in the presence of God. It is the moment to feel thankful.

And thank you for such lovely rhyming example of a poem. It will be on my next attempt I hope, when my emotion is strong enough.
