Over the recent months, UNKWN, vocalist Laura Rain, and producer George Friend (from Laura Rain and the Caesars) have joined forces, employing live instrumentation like the upright piano, brass, bells, organ, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, etc., along with an assortment of analog synthesizers, from the Moog to the renowned Prophet 6. Laura Rain, a soul singer based in Detroit, channels the power and finesse of her own voice to inspire and electrify. Alongside her creative partner George Friend, the duo has released four albums and six singles, presenting a unique blend of contemporary funky soul, blues, and r&b that honors Detroit's rich history of musical innovation.
